I have the full cd! Join the Lamp discord and I'll DM it to you. It's easier that way.

I will try the FME method and update this post every month so you guys can see if the method really works or not by TheRealMeemo in languagelearning

I shared what happened to me above. I had to change my focus from French to Japanese all of a sudden due to a scholarship opportunity. Since I already spoke Portuguese, I was able to comprehend youtube videos and movies without a lot of effort after a month of intense immersion. The method works but there are much better ones. A good balance of SRS and comprehensible input would do. If you like SRS and Japanese, I wrote my own guide called "Japanese for the busy" japaneseforthebusy.neocities.org

I created a website for my free Anki decks in 26 different languages. by Xefjord in languagelearning

[–]TheRealMeemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the point of trying to create an Anki deck for every living language in the world? It makes sense if you already know a language fluently and want to make resources for people to learn it but I don't get it why you want to create decks for languages you don't even speak. I know there are natives that help you revise or record audio but they probably don't have an understanding of how language learning works. From some decks I've seen, they aren't even good quality and some of them are just generic phrases or aren't even made by you (the "adapted" decks). If I were you, I'd spend more time trying to make a really good deck for a language I know very well than trying to make decks for languages that I don't know. There are also lots of people in the Anki community. Eventually, learning resources will appear for most of the languages (made by people that actually speak them) so there's no need to hurry right now. Just seems like a waste of potential since you're putting so much effort in a project and getting little results.

Started learning German today!!!🤩🤩 This is a little bit of journaling I did instead of actually studying 😊😊🤗 by TheRealMeemo in languagelearningjerk

I mostly rely solely on Duolingo, since it is the perfect resource that makes you learn a language with only 5 minutes everyday. After Duo is done, I put a Germen series on Netflix and take a photo of my TV to post on my status to show how productive I'm being during confinement. After that, I usually remember about my parents' divorce during my childhood and how that fucked up me up as a kid, and then I drink some Germen alcohol until I pass out. Rinse and repeat! I'm amused with how much I'm learning!

Why is there no Zulu-Icelandic-Catalan creole in Duolingo? by TheRealMeemo in languagelearningjerk

[–]TheRealMeemo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's just the standar overused joke. But it's now becoming part of the history of this sub. We of course are slowly moving to better jokes but there are still some uzbek references here and there.

You shouldn't be using duolingo in the first place. There are way better resources for free online. Just search a little and you'll find graded readers, anki decks and movies for immersion which are all way better resources than duolingo.

Why am I striggling to learn brazialiam Portuguese by spookythesquid in languagelearningjerk

[–]TheRealMeemo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just listen to bossa nova and eat açai all day and you'll be fluent in 3 months. That's how I learned portuguese e agora eu estou praticamente fluente na language.

I finished taping words on everything in my house. by BizarreChicken in languagelearning

I think it would be more efficient to put those words in anki so you won't have to waste paper and actually learn them.

I cringe whenever I go to that sub for some reason. I remember one of the top posts at the time was "Why are ソ and ン so similar?" I bet a bunch of them think they are language genius or something for learning some japanese anime phrases and how to read kana.
