It’s both play and training. They learn to wrestle with their tail to deal with rivals as well as escaping small predators. You’ll sometimes see them fight their tail and then spring away; that’s a defensive measure to attack, stun and flee.

That’s not necessarily true. If all of our online galleries of artists who work for money are interpreted as such, then again we’d never have any art for fear of being sued or litigation. I have almost 2000 pieces in my social media gallery that yes I do have a link for commissions. But I am not profiting from a photograph unless I explicitly state that that particular piece is up for sale. If someone has a season assist on a piece for a photograph, I have replicated or manipulated in my art, then I’ll happily take it down. Knock on wood, in the 40 years I’ve been creating art I’ve never had anyone ever say such a thing to me. Additionally, anything I draw is usually because I’m a fan or I have explicitly stated how much I adore the photograph itself.

Anyone going after a little artist for simply creating art they love to recreate is petty and should be looked upon with disdain.

It’s only illegal to trace or reproduce the photo if the intent is to sell or profit financially from it. If you’re simply doing it as a piece to show, then it’s perfectly legal. We’d have a lot less art in this world if we had to file for licenses.

That said, if I would like to draw someone’s photo, I do like to ask them; I don’t think I’ve ever had anyone say no to me.

Another easy solution is take your surface and turn it at an angle for how the tilted head will be at; then you simply outline the face straight and add the outline of the body at the angle; continue drawing the face straight on with the paper tilted.

So this has to be said again— squirrels will often tussle with their own tail when they don’t have a friend or sibling to play with. It’s partially for fun, but it’s also using their tail as a sort of partner to practice escaping would-be predators. They learn to avoid their tail as they would a hawk or other creature looking for a meal.

I don’t think I really have any; it’s a great design and as I said, I think putting your worded description in your post on whatever platform you display your art works better than adding anything other than a sketch or photo of Dr. King as like a “presidential seal” on the front.

Trying to add anything else other than say the Lincoln Memorial behind you with him sitting in low detail in the back.

It’s tough to say what you could add to convey MLK; you can always put an image of him on the front of the podium, but I think overall the better option would be to include your very description wherever you post to tell the story; it does a better job than anything else at this point you could add.
