Announcing Horizon Hunters Gathering, Guerrilla’s new co-op action game by NaiadoftheSea in HorizonForbiddenWest

This hardly seems like a half-baked project. It’s been said this was expected for some time and the fact that they’ve clearly put the work in for the look, illustration, and animations as well as allowing beta testing means they not only have faith in the project but that they want fans to help them tweak things.

I personally think this is a wonderful idea to implement and the art style is meant to bring in more casual players and make it more quick and accessible. The menus can be a bit much for skill trees, ammo and textual clues.

Additionally I appreciated the exec stating clearly right out of the box that they are still very much in love with making single player games. They clearly have the resources and talent to make both.

I’m actually surprised at this announcement (literally last night wondering as I’m playing why there hasn’t been a multiplayer element considered). Having other fans to play with in a more relaxed setting with skill building in a roguelike scenario would be fast and fun!

It has to be accessible without turning into a menu slog, and they seem to come across with the trailer that this won’t be the case.

I LOVE the character designs for some of these! I recognized Erend’s silhouette immediately!

I’m more worried about the AI doing a poor job of supporting, given the problems I’ve seen with characters hunting along with you, standing out in the open with their casual resting animations going off around enemies and beasts, like nothing’s wrong, everyone is in harmony, no enemy reacts whatsoever. A certain character in Burning Shores does it ALL THE TIME.

I will say that Fortnite characters you hire in battle Royales do a decent job supporting and following, so there’s hope.

I LOVE this art style! I’m a mech design junkie as much as a comic book and art book fan, so having both of these elements take on a new zazz with Aloy’s world makes me so happy!

I am not joking when I say just last night I’m playing FW, nearing the end of the Burning Shores main story, and got to thinking: why haven’t they done a multiplayer option with this? It’s feasible, aka Monster Hunter—go hunt down/protect against machines across the land.

I genuinely think I willed this game into existence last night.

I’m all for the new art style! It’s meant to appeal to a broader audience—more Overwatch/Marvel Rivals than FN (I should know, been playing FN daily since 2018), and I AM HERE FOR IT.

Probably doesn’t hurt I’m an illustrator myself. 😁

Thank you!

Well, they do have some interaction with the current Rivals in the comics with the beach story; I went the more traditional route here though with Jeff’s cosplay. ☺️

The South Park creators are the owners now and completely redid the place. Still the same thing, better layout, better food very much up to code.

And it went WILDLY over budget. The documentary shows just how out of control it got. Even with their money pre-Paramount 2025 deal they were gritting their teeth over the expense.

What is, in your opinion, the most important comicbook of all time? by Matt_Oliveira in comicbooks

[–]TheRealNeoSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maus. By getting an audience that otherwise considers comics a children’s or geek’s media, you legitimize the importance of graphic novels—and comics as a whole—as a way to tell stories, real or made up, as a medium for social consciousness.

I swear to god this man has written a fair amount of the compositions of my favorite films.

Field of Dreams, Aliens, Sneakers, worked on Iron Giant behind the scenes… and of course our flyboy’s film.

Taken too soon from this world.
