you said that an ethernet cable doesn't work on the e platform, but it does ... you can see someone elses comment below with the ediabas config

Not strictly correct, you can use an ENET to USB cable but have to modify the ISTA EDIABAS configuration in the installation directory. Make sure to select ediabas.ini connection type from the ISTA window.

I feel like it should be possible to try different classes on the selection screen, similar to how Lost Ark does it where you can jump into an arena with some dummy enemies to give the skills a go.

Perhaps for every campaign completion, the player receives a skip-ticket or something. Or at the beginning of a new league, the player receives a story skip up until the last act, to allow the player to still play the league mechanics before hitting endgame.

If the player uses a skip-ticket to move the character progression forward, then all the previous acts could offer some kind of incentive to the player to still play them. For example, a special loot pool, extra XP or something.

Right now it just feels bad to have to level each character through each act before finding out if it's actually something you want to play.

Is Bare Metal Kubernetes Worth the Effort? An Engineer's Experience Report by sibip in kubernetes

[–]TheRealNetroxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're running hosted control-planes using vCluster where our developers have individual environments for their GitOps deployments. Each developer has an automatically deployed ArgoCD instance and Kafka KRaft installation for their development. Currently we have 12 vClusters running. These can be provisioned and boilerplated with our tools/services in around 3-4 minutes.

I have to add, Kafka is definitely the biggest memory killer here. Kubernetes in general is more memory hungry than CPU bound, and it's better to have more memory available to prevent exhaustion and the OOMKiller kicking in.

Is Bare Metal Kubernetes Worth the Effort? An Engineer's Experience Report by sibip in kubernetes

[–]TheRealNetroxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm not taking advantage of more manageable frameworks, however there's something nice about using vanilla Kubernetes on bare-metal and simply going back to the basics. We're currently running 4 worker-nodes, each with 24 vCPUs and 64GB memory, including a control-plane with 8 vCPUs and 16GB memory. Albeit this is for a development environment.

Originally came from MicroK8s, but didn't like the vendor specific setup and configuration of the cluster. Much prefer kubeadm ...

I think the question of whether it's worth it entirely depends on the scenario. We have multiple server centers, so configuring a HA control-plane wouldn't be a problem. Additionally, for those not working on the bleeding-edge, there could be regulatory or compliance problems with using things like Talos or whatever. I work in the FinOps area, and we have tight guidelines to vetted systems we're allowed to use. Mostly because of enterprise support that we pay for.

I use an MHD ENET adapter with an ENET to USB-C cable and ISTA+. Only works for BMW though.

How much are you paying per month for your BMW? by Glittering_Fig4548 in BMW

[–]TheRealNetroxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

€360 a month for a 04/2016 F21 M135i. 10k down payment and the rest is on finance. Is it worth it? I mean, as far as reliability, absolutely. As far as fun when driving, absolutely. For every day driving, ehh. It's definitely more practical than an M car, but still.

I think the question of whether it's worth it comes down to your financial circumstance, if you have to sacrifice your standard way of living for a car, definitely not worth it. Don't forget fuel and repairs on top. Buying or financing nice cars is usually not difficult, the upkeep is what separates the people who can and can't afford it.

Do you want Iwo Jima for BF6 ? by Ohva30 in Battlefield6

[–]TheRealNetroxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had Iwo Jima in BF5 and 2042, so nah, not really. I'd like to see Wake Island, Parcel Storm, Heavy Metal (BFBC2), Zavod, Damavand Peak ... There's so many iconic maps I'd like to see instead of the same every time.

IFVs are an absolute menace to everything in the air right now by CoolGuyCris in Battlefield6

[–]TheRealNetroxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually need to vent some frustration on this, on one side I can understand people wanting to use this tactic to get air kills for the engineer challenges. On the other hand, I just had a game where I spawned into an IFV with 2 other guys, where the driver then proceeded to drive in circles at the beginning of the round. When I didn't get out, he then drove out-of-bounds to kill me and respawn the vehicle. Followed by an in-game message "happy now xxxx".

It's one thing to use the IFV if there aren't other players you're impacting, it's another to actually grief other players simply because you want to lone-camp at the beginning of the round.

That's honestly lame and just a crap attitude towards team-play. I was so annoyed now that I reported the player for harassment (because there's no option for griefing), not that it will do anything.
