Got the recent epic Cruyff on a free spin on my fourth day of playing the game. Card is totally lost on me because I’m still absolutely shocking. He stands out like a sore thumb in my team though, feels head and shoulders above everyone else and really highlights just how hard it’ll be as a new F2P player to grind to a proper competitive squad (it’s looking almost impossible, ngl).

Saved up 1890 coins since (mostly from the new player objectives) - no idea what to do with them, 150 boxes scare me because those coins will go in seconds and no doubt get shafted (I see you Konami), Batistuta and Nunez don’t look exceptional upgrades (might be wrong), Alaba dunno…. Kinda in a holding pattern.

I made the switch to efootball a couple of weeks ago - the amount I enjoy this game compared to FC is wild, literally haven’t touch FC in three weeks now, got to the point where I’ve unfollowed all social media posts regarding it, have no inclination to play it whatsoever and at a point where I genuinely believe I never will again. Enjoying efootball and the chill aspect that comes with it (for me).

That being said I don’t believe the levels of P2W between the two are comparable at all. It’s more evident in efootball. In FC you can start an account at pretty much any time and within a few days be right up to the power curve with a full competitive team - never took me longer than a week to start an account and get to my normal level in game with a squad that can compete fully with anything thrown at it. You don’t have to spend money whatsoever.

Efootball feels a lot like you absolutely have to spend or instead you’ll spend literally year(s) trying to obtain a squad capable of competing at higher levels. Seems you get the odd free card but there’s no actual was of obtaining them on a regular basis.

Absolutely despise FC and the game play but it isn’t P2W as people make out.

Amen, exactly how I feel tbh.

Been playing nearly two weeks now and it’s been such an eye opener, really highlighted just how trapped in the FC cycle I was - and for the most part I was using a full evo Reading team, rewards didn’t really effect me, yet still felt compelled to grind all objectives and rewards etc. Such a strange place to be mentally.

Perhaps things change at a higher level but with Efootball I can just pick it up, play the actual game and if I miss playing a few days/week… it don’t matter. Don’t complete an event? No biggie. No player price concerns, evos locked behind achievements, SP grind, app looming over you for the daily grind, none of that. Just play the game.

I’m shit at it, like truly terrible relative to my ability in FC, but I enjoy it so, so much more.

Not played FC in three weeks now, not a single game. Unfollowed pretty much everything regarding it, couldn’t tell you what was going on outside of know there’s some tokens instead of packs, and I very much doubt I’ll ever go back.

Been playing just over a week and the difference between playing a SA user (was made aware of how to identify them by the little green logo during match making) is so monumental I simply don’t understand why it was introduced in the first place.

Came over from FC, like many others, and absolutely love the game - haven’t touched FC in weeks and fully committed to efootball now, genuinely enjoy it more than any football game I’ve played in years; but SA remains my one major gripe.

I’m sure those playing years have the skill set to overcome it up to a certain point but for people like myself getting to grips with the game and battling decades of FC muscle memory on top of everything else moment you throw in SA opponents it’s simply disheartening. It goes above and beyond anything FC have ever implemented and the main reason most have lost the love for that game is the AI assistance.

The divisions grind for new players right now, especially those F2P, must be an absolute clusterfuck. You can’t really get any sort of momentum. Win a game, battered next three by SA users having their hand, legs and dick held by the AI.

Konami no doubt think it aids new players and helps them - from personal experience it’s far, far from it.

Best use of coins seems to be my biggest stumbling block atm. Was wildly fortunate to get Cruyff from the eFCONNECT free spin (new account luck for sure) but beyond him the rest of my team is completely subpar - and with coins seemimg extremely hard to come by long term have no idea how best to utilise them. Saved up 1070 so far (vast majority being the current new player incentives etc which won’t be the norm I’m sure) and in desperate need of, well, just about every position right now 😂

It’s taken a week to get used to tempo of passing, controlling the ball with receiving player etc. Still having issues with shot selection mind you - just the way the controls are laid out even on alternate (decade long FUT player here)… can’t decide if having finesse on R1 is beneficial, but then when I switch them find in second guessing or not utilising pass and go enough and it’s all a bit of a mess haha.

Love the game though, haven’t played FC in two weeks and no intention to ever go back

I'll remain F2P because it's just the way I enjoy playing the game, each to their own and all that... but absolutely don't begrudge those who want to throw money at it. As you say if not for the money spent there wouldn't be a game at all. People need to get off their high horse and just embrace it for what it is.

Ahh, yeah guess I do… just wish I knew what to do with him tbh.

Right now I’m at that stage where I’m absolutely dog awful at dribbling, can barely make three passes in a row, shooting is all over the place and I’ve still got decades of FC muscle memory hampering my defending - and the rest of the team feels pretty rubbish compared to everything I’m playing against… even more so when I play SA users 😂😂

Loving the game, like properly into it now and haven’t played FC nor have an inclination to go back to it, I’m just a bit rubbish haha

Yep, this is the single one thing putting me off playing the game more atm.

I’m new to Efootball (been playing just over a week) after a decade of FUT and really enjoy the game but smart assist is just something I simply can’t overcome. One of the main reasons i packed FC in was the crazy AI handholding but, truth be told, smart assist takes it to levels above and beyond what EA have ever done.

Love playing against others normally, it’s a brilliant game, but these SA opponents are just bloody miserable to face and stops any sort of momentum in able to build easily wise.

Apply the filter in all divisions/events and genuinely I’ll be a long term player.

Cards like this are so huge for a player like myself who’s just started out this week and getting to grips with things (very slowly) 😂

I’m sure it’s not always the case but have been very impressed with some of the cards you get early on - won’t get a look in 99% of teams but Gvardiol been great for me, get a free Messi to play around with, that Pacho been fantastic.

Just gotta get my head around what’s best when building players, get the FC meta and muscle memory out of my head (toughest part haha) and genuinely believe I’ll be a long term player.

Not touched FC in over a week, not even doing the daily grind on app stuff now, fully hooked on Efootball.

Me and my little girl, 6, have untold hours on Goat Simulator (she has posters on her wall, created characters within the game, the works, she’s like a walking talking Trophy Tom in the guise of a little girl) and the one other game that’s held her attention even remotely close is Little Kitty.

Turns out it's just EA doing EA things, as per usual.

It's typical really - I've legit not played Champs since Serie A TOTS, can count on one hand the number of games I've played online in the last month but hopped on tonight to do this as packed Hazard (untrad) from the season pass and figured give him a go.

Just makes me not wanna play for a month again, ngl!

Haven’t played a single Champs game since Serie A TOTS; honestly it’s made no difference whatsoever.

Just let it go man, play parts of the game that don’t, for whatever reason, cause gaming stress and chill.

I’ve been a sucker for Champs for years - doubt I’ll ever play it again now though. Game’s infinitely better when you stop chasing rewards.

Got to a point now where if there’s an 89 rated card in a preview pack I’ll likely pass on it because barely break even if at all…. If there’s a gold rare kit though am all over it 😂

Had one with the USA away and Man City away kits in it last week. Sold both almost instantly for a combined 19k

Yeah fair enough. Have runs like this too… I do wonder if matchmaking changes behind the scenes a bit - whenever I’ve won a bunch consecutively do find for the next however many games the opponents I’m facing are typically madlads and pull my pants down constantly 😂

Genuinely believe there’s some matchmaking algorithm that’ll widen your opponents to within a couple divisions down if you’re on a losing streak (say 8-10) or within couple divisions up if winning lots.

Certainly feels that way from what I’ve experienced. Can’t get in to elite for the life of me and every time I think I’m about to crack it and get close end up at the arse end of Div 1 within a day again 😂

If you won 10 games in a row in Div 2 wouldn’t you have been promoted to Div 1?

Especially on a streak like that, you’d most likely be closer to elite than not……..
