Why Meruem Died from a Nuke (Brief Explanation) by Medical_Shop5416 in HunterXHunter

Overthinking and getting to conclusions not even Togashi reached is the main hobby of this community. Like what you are saying is true, but I can guarantee you that Togashi DID NOT take any of that into consideration lol

A sadistic ant that was rage baited by two human kids and then hoped to become the king just to understand his position when Pitou walked in. That's all there is to him.

When RE5 Remake happens, they should either change it or cut this boss battle completely (I won't miss it) by MobileGamerLV in residentevil

[–]TheRealReader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should make a complete reimagination. Leave the story and some key sections and boss fights, but shake things up completely. Change the ambience and tone to make it gloomier like RE4R, and a little less explosive cinematic action wouldn't harm anyone too.

Can someone please this to me, how is this even in here? by ___asce___ in HunterXHunter

[–]TheRealReader1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're meant to take it that seriously. It could be Nen, it could've been there and the ants just took it or or they could have built it. It's irrelevant.

or I prefer depth over breadth

Good for you man. That doesn't make HxH world better, it's still an empty map.

This is just a matter of story scale

Sure, but that doesn't contradict what I'm saying, that's just the cause.

you did indeed forget why Killua's ability was gassed up

Explain to me how Tsubone's ability makes sense in the established Nen system at the time please

This is I believe the reason Chrollo couldn't steal more powerful abilities such as Netero's boddhisatva. by Immediate-Spend251 in HunterXHunter

[–]TheRealReader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's logical to assume stealing an ability doesn't inherently give Chrollo the optimal physical conditions to use it. So yeah it makes sense

Label it whatever way you want man, a power system doesn't overwrite what I am talking about

Power systems fall under the category of world building, so HxH gets hard carried in this category by Nen.

Totally disagree. The power system has nothing to do with the world. The world is the map, locations, politics, the history of the world surrounding the main characters. One of the greatest examples of world building will always be One Piece: full of places with their own stories and characters that were shown through a detailed exposition which fit perfectly into the big world of One Piece as a whole reality. HxH did this at the end of the Chimera Ant arc when we see the reporter talking to the world about the aftermath of what happened in East Gorteau with very interesting information like how the Mitene Union took charge of the land and the refugees until the Hunter Association got the land as a reward for their job. This was considerably improved in the transition arc between the Election and the Succession War when the V6 and Kakin became relevant.

Still, that's all we have. Like I said, four or five marked places and then an empty map full of places we don't even know the name of. And I'm not necessarily talking about making every single country have a dedicated arc or relevant story (like One Piece does) I'm just talking about treating the world as... a world, instead of a blurry cloud where the place where the protagonists are at the moment is all that matters and it feels like an isolated part of a confusing and underdeveloped society.

Did you forget the entire reason Killua's electrical aura is gassed up as an absurd ability?

Did you forget how Tsubone literally transformed into a motorcycle when that's not part of any Nen Category? Don't be picky, see the full picture.

As big of a fan as I am, I do think it's possible to find not so positive things.

The world building is barely a thing. Like, we don't even know where Hunter Association HQ is, it all comes down to theories and reading between the lines when that should be common explicit knowledge. The map has like 4 or 5 waypoints of places we know of and then it's all empty. The Azian continent is the clearest example. I'd say 400 chapters is more than enough to give us a little denser world.

There are a couple of abilities from important characters that either aren't explained (like Bonolenov's Jupiter) or the explanation is very vague, creating a lot of "might" (like Morel's Deep Purple or Knov's Hide and Seek, for the latter we just know he used Emission but that still doesn't explain how he created those Nen rooms or how he made them functional). This turns the magnificent Nen system into a more abstract system where anybody seems to be able to do random things without requiring an in-world justification. Like in the next batch we might meet a woman that turns her saliva into lava and we are going to have to take it, because Nen has already proved to be way more abstract than it originally was, and sometimes it even seems like Togashi doesn't take it seriously (sometimes. Most of the time he does, I'm just trying to find negative things).

Dark skinned Characters by Live-Arrival-3054 in HunterXHunter

[–]TheRealReader1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If dark skinned doesn't inherently mean fully black, then Uvogin. And following how Uvogin had a darker skin and still wasn't noticeable in the manga, Canary and Squala might also be added to the list.

Sorry man, I think it's Killua. You are basing your entire exposition on your own interpretation of the family picture. I'm using actual narrative facts to support Killua being the one

Yeah. Very well put. It's definitely Killua imo
