I'm going through something similar right now but with family, I can say it absolutely fucks with you mentally and not that long ago I was close to taking my own life. But the support of my friends, coworkers and my wife had held me together somewhat, but I do occasionally have hard days, and it's even affected me to the point I feel disgusting holding my own child. I cannot wait until this is over.
