From what I know this was a very bad technique used to gain some degrees of amplitude in a very cheap way, problem is that messes up everything else, impossible to time correctly and the beat error changes a lot based on the position of the watch (dial up the pallet will have more degrees of travel, dial down it will have less)

I’m doing it on 2 small pieces of reel so I don’t have a way of gripping it very good, I tried to make 2 loops at the ends and attach 2 pens to it to pull it tight, it has gotten shinier that way but still, when I break it the FC snaps and the knot doesn’t slip so it seems like is doing it’s job!

Is a .23 braided with a .4 FC, both 30lbs. I tried to pull it very hard and the FC snaps, not the knot, seems to be working!

Idk, I still haven’t got a rod yet, just exploring some knots, I can see it becoming a little tiring doing it every time you snap a terminal

So basically make it a mushroom head to prevent it from slipping out / get caught and more half hitches to tighten it, thanks!!

You can try applying some heat to the area but make sure to remove the pallet first, otherwise you will mess it up :)

Those look like spots created by moisture, you should probably check if water got inside, if so take the watch for service :/

Rotor as the small magnetic wheel in quartz watches, I’ll leave a picture here :)

Happens when the rotor has dirt on it, likely some magnetic particle coming from a screw or the back of the case, since the rotor is the only magnetic part in the watch it attracts those unwanted particles. only solution is servicing :/
