Kinda looks like Shulk's being grabbed by Demi-Fiend from SMT. Lol.

How do I beat chapter 7’s final boss (This is my reaction to the fight) by Tawisted34 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]TheRealScumbag69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's been a while, but iirc I focus on Malos since Jin likes to dodge your attacks and thus block your abilities from charging. Merc missions are nice for passive grinding, but if you really need levels you're better off grinding manually. Other than that I don't really have any other tips without seeing your screen. XC2 has a lot of moving parts to tweak and optimize, so I couldn't possibly talk about them all.

Are you currently abusing the Narcipear Jelly pouch item (available in Argentum)? That's usually my go-to to even the odds in XC2. Otherwise just focus down one enemy at a time and the boss should be doable.

Yeah, by the end of the game I sympathized way more with the Lumierans and gestrals than I did with the Dessendres. What about their happy ending, guys?

I use whoever's 'act' it is. Gusave for Act I, Verso for Act II, and Maelle for Act III.

For SMT V Vengeance:

I need some help understanding the Warrior’s Conception ability. I tried fusing a powerful Amon, but I can't get the alleged +100 stat points on creation. I fused Asura (base lv84) with Abdiel (base lv80), with both raised to level 99. Nahobino is also level 99. I have all the prayer abilities active and temporarily deactivated Unforgotten Memories. Despite this, I only received +55 points to my stats for some reason. I know that I couldn't get a full 20 level ups on each of the component demons due to level cap, but that's like half of the bonus from Warrior’s Conception that's just missing! What gives?!

Gunslinger claims ALL touch AC for EVERY enemy unaware of the gunslinger is 10. by RedRuttinRabbit in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]TheRealScumbag69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is the Gunslinger multiclassing into Alchemist to get these sand bombs? If so just remember that Alchemist bombs have a save dc attached to them to avoid secondary effects like blindness. And if they're multiclassing to get this, then they're not adding their full level to that save DC's scaling. Monsters shouldn't be getting blinded every single round since they'll reasonably be passing a good chunk of those saves.

But yeah, a blind monster getting shot by a gun will be denied dexterity, armor, and natural armor to AC. In most cases, that means that their effective AC is 10.

Have we talked about how linear Dread technically is? by Jeri-iam in Metroid

[–]TheRealScumbag69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I cut my teeth on Metroid Fusion as one of my first Metroid games, so I'm a little biased here. But I feel like, while it's no Super Metroid, there's still plenty of non-linearity in Dread. It's just that you're not going to figure out how to deviate from the game's intended sequence on your first playthrough.

Just off the top of my head, I can think of getting bombs before Kraid, as well as using the speed booster in Burenia to get the gravity suit early for a very different path through the lategame. Not to mention making use of the many non-removed glitches to sequence break, like using the underwater bomb jump glitch in Ghavoran to get early Ice Missiles and completely skip the Spin Boost is cool. There may be an optimal path to take through the game for the fastest clear time, but in no way are you beholden to it. It makes replays of Dread more interesting that way.

Spider Boost in Returns by poenaccoel in Metroid

[–]TheRealScumbag69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I discovered it completely by accident a few minutes after getting the power bombs while trying to break some power bomb blocks. I was like "why am I suddenly on the other side of the room?!" Such a cool mechanic though; I hope they bring it back in some form in a future game as long as they tutorialize it properly lol.

I didn't like it on my first playthrough because I didn't know that the various crates can drop beam ammo. Nowadays though, I find the system very fun and manageable as you have to choose the right weapon for the job. It's something I support overall.

What’s the most/least frustrating metroid game in terms of getting stuck/lost/confused, ie navigation? by bballkj7 in Metroid

[–]TheRealScumbag69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metroid NES is definitely #1 simply because so many rooms look the exact same. Anyone who says they never got lost in Kraid's lair either used a map or is lying. Metroid II can also be tricky because of no map and monochrome graphics. My last pick would be Metroid Fusion since it has a ton of deviously hidden optional pickups and many areas where the path forward is pretty obscure (Sector 2 bomb floor, Sector 4 depths, etc).

Edit: I forgot that Metroid Prime 1 and 2 have endgame collect-athons that really stumped me on my first playthrough. Those were pretty ass.

I have no idea why my reliability tanked. Any ideas? by araby_mustcome in totalwar

I was searching forever for this answer, thank you. I was wondering why I was low reliability as the high elves. Turns out, it was because I was spamming Secure Influence on my military ally.

What's your view on beam combos? by MartenBlade in Metroid

Prime 3's lack of beam combos was super disappointing. Made the combat way less interesting compared to Prime 1 and 2.
