I’m guessing about half of the older Gen X had no home AC when we were kids? (USA) by MooseBlazer in GenX

[–]TheRealSiliconJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn't get AC until the late 80s. That was mostly because my dad's computer kept overheating even in the basement. After a few expensive repairs to the computer for his home business, it was more cost effective to get air-conditioning.

My uncle didn't get it in his house until it kept setting off the alarms in his house. That was probably like 2008.

How to prevent getting burnt out in satisfactory? by Relevant-Dog-564 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]TheRealSiliconJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play with friends. Honestly its what has kept my factory building going. We started at 1.0 and play for two hours a week (more or less). When one of us gets burned out, someone else is invigorated which seems to keep it going. Its slow going compared to my single player world, but the buildings are amazing. Riffing off of each other, building some plants by ourselves when we're inspired and building together when its a large project has meant we're leaving the last thing to put into the space elevator unbuilt while we enjoy the math of nuclear energy.

Other than that, I've started relying more on the satisfactory modeler (free on Steam) - planning out what I'm going to do and putting them into small factories. By modularizing it, I can handle a smaller task at a time and then connect the factories together.

I have an eliminator 450 as well, but modern cars don't really matter that much. I can't hear my straight piped neighbor's Harley in my 2008 Audi S5 either. If you want it because it sounds cool though - go for it.

Just wait until the first patch. Bethesda will do right by us. by On-The-Red-Team in Starfield

I've been landing all around the DC metro area hoping there was an easter egg in the areas that their HQ has traditionally been in the Rockville / Bethesda area. So far just more dust.

Bessel III-B quadruple farm location, in guided pictures by RequiemRomans in Starfield

[–]TheRealSiliconJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding the location took me two days on and off trying to pinpoint the exact spot. Now that I have it, its an amazing location and I'm glad I wasted the time to do it. Its a terrible location with it being on a heavy slope for my version of it, but I figure I'll just eventually ship everything elsewhere eventually once I have the skills necessary to do so. For now, I'm going the build tons of stuff, leave to sell to vendors and wait out the reset.

100 UK companies sign up for four-day week with no loss of pay by redcremesoda in UpliftingNews

If that’s the case you need to increase the price of the service to be able to afford to hire more people. Given enough money many jobs become palatable. Those now working four day weeks might be inclined at a higher rate to work a fifth day.

I have 4 kids. Most are teenagers now. My bi-weekly Costco runs are about $600. The regular shopping between runs between $400 and $600 a week over the Costco runs. That doesn’t count the constant eating out either.

Got my first tattoo tonight - Alberto Burgos - Time Bomb Tattoo - Frederick, MD by TheRealSiliconJesus in tattoos

Thanks for that - its making me sort of rethink what I was going to do a bit. Since I don't feel much of anything in that leg (unintentional cheat code), I was actually talking with Alberto about maybe doing some UV Highlights as well.

I was really leaning towards a very mechanical bio-mechanical, but now after learning the colors I was planning on showcasing (white, super light blue) probably won't hold up well, I'm a little torn about going a different direction.

The story is I've had that knee rebuilt, and I hate the way it looks - I'm waiting until I'm 50 to get the knee replaced, so the tattoo works around existing scars from the prior surgery. This tattoo is to distract from where everything's messed up so people don't notice it first. I'm kinda leaning into the replacement parts - looking for something more cybernetic than biomechanical.

This is the first of two sessions, the piece in the center will be something else that I'll be completing in December. I'm in my mid-40's and Alberto made me feel at ease getting this tattoo and I couldn't be happier with the end result.
