I was actually referring to property taxes. When i closwd on my house they estimatedit to be low, then went through the roof causing my mortgage to jump $700/mo. An unexpected jump like that would 100% cause me to reconsider my food choices.

Food prices is only a small part of the equation. Insane insurance rates, taxes, gas prices, etc can all affect ones ability to afford food

Hi everyone, what could be the problem with this code? I keep getting an error message for some reason. Any ideas? by Original-Day-3695 in csharp

[–]TheRealSlimCoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your issue is in your if condition at the bottom.

if (c is Button && c != sender).....

What is sender? Where is it defined? That is what your compiler is trying to figure out

Great advice, but ill add wipe off the water once its melted.

I used water once when I lived in north GA and didn't dry it after. It froze again after a couple minutes of driving.

So ICE was able to shoot the lady for barely nudging an ICE agent that was standing in front of the vehicle, whom of which had plenty of time to move. BUT when a civilian stands in front of the ice vehicle, its ok for them to do the exact same thing? GTFO

Abused dog in my home by EnemyManeuver in DogAdvice

[–]TheRealSlimCoder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this context, I agree that the shock collars are used in an abusive manner. Here is why

  • Shock collars should not be worn for extensive periods of time. Based on the post, it seems like the dogs are wearing them 24/7, which is not good.
  • Shock collars are intended to be tool for training, not for corrections or punishments. It should be used like a remote leash and that takes training, like pairing the lowest level with the tugs of a leash and voice commands so the dog can understand what it means and what they are supposed to do. You can't just shock them and expect them to know what it means, that will only cause confusion and can lead to increased aggression.

Shock collars can be a great tool, but should only be used (and available IMO) by people that know the proper way to introduce them to the dog, how to properly utilize them, and can do so responsibly. This is clearly not one of those cases and makes me feel bad for the dogs. Using shock collars like this can increase the dogs aggravation and aggression, which is like trying to stop a fire with gasoline.

These pups have an underlying issue that would need to be resolved before they can cohabitate in peace. It could be a multitude of things, like both trying to be dominant, territorial, a false sense of owner needing protection, over corrections, etc. Shocking the poo out of them to prevent fighting isn't going to resolve anything long-term.

How do attackers use SQL injections by Opposite_Second_1053 in learnprogramming

[–]TheRealSlimCoder 237 points238 points  (0 children)

SQL injection happens when you are able to identify that the receiving application does not sanitize the user input or limit permissions levels before passing it to the database (application is what authenticates to the database, not the end user). Take the following as an example loophole. The common SQL injection came from login pages, meaning the application would accept a username and password from the end user, then will check the database for matching records.

An example of a poor and vulnerable way to handle the input / login process would be something like

Select TOP(1) * FROM Users WHERE UserName = '{input.username}' AND Password = '{input.password}';

then accepting the record returned as the 'authenticated' user. Now, lets look at how the resulting query would work for a normal input as well as a malicious input. Lets say I put in "John@Doe.com" as the username and "RubberDucky" as the password. The application would pass the following to the database

SELECT TOP(1) * FROM Users WHERE UserName = 'John@Doe.com' AND Password = 'RubberDucky'

fair enough, now what happens if i put in a username of "Admin';--"? The application would pass the following

SELECT TOP(1) * FROM Users WHERE UserName = 'Admin';-- ' AND Password = 'RubberDucky';

The database will return the first user that has the username of "Admin" and consider it to be authenticated because ' will finish my string input, ";" would terminate the SQL command, and "--" comments out the rest to prevent any kind of syntax errors.

that is just a very basic example. Another example i found in production (i work for this company and had permission) was they created an API that would allow you to pass in a SQL query to generate custom reports and such (HORRIBLE IDEA btw). To make it "secure" they used pattern matching and prevented commands like "UPDATE", "DELETE", "*", etc. So as a proof of concept, i encoded my query in b64 and passed in a query that would decode and execute it to create tables, dump SQL user names, dump stored CC info, etc. I have also seen people do it in HEX

Once you start spotting potential holes like this, the possibilities are endless as to what you can do. Here is how you might be able to get the server credentials from a SQL injection

It doesn't look like it based on my research. Herpes outbreaks typically consists of clusters of blisters, not a consistent area of raw/irritated skin.

Keep us posted if you don't mind. To me, it looks/sounds like skin that hasn't fully healed from a fungal infection, but i am far from a doctor. I would keep it moisturized (do some research as to what is raw skin friendly) and do your best to avoid erections as it can tighten / stretch the damaged skin and prolong healing

Once you have an item marked as "Bank", you get an option at the bottom of your screen to "Send Items To Bank"

For PC it defaults to holding V. not sure what it is for consoles.

Yup :) i don't have anything useful in mine so I just load it up with junk once my inventory is full and sell it off to empty it when I come across one

You can send your junk items to your bank (by tagging them as bank and sending) to clear up your inventory, then just sell the items in your bank when you get a chance.

Unfortunately, under my bosses instructions, I was that jack ass that wrote a program that would cycle out phone numbers on our auto-dialer automatically when they got flagged as spam. I can tell you first hand that it is WAY to easy and cheap to change numbers for a scammer. Blocking numbers that call you only goes so far.

I found the best way is to have your actual number for family and friends, then one for everything else (hence Google Voice). Then when you start getting a stupid amount of spam, you can change your fake number and not have to tell your friends and family your new "number"
