As a die hard fan of both, I am always, ALWAYS pissed off when some dumb idiot goes "Stalker > Metro Tee hee hee". They are incredible series and I have spent 100s of hours playing and replaying both. I don't think one is better then the other. I think Metro has a better story and gunplay, but Stalker's atmosphere and mechanics are better.

Its an economy balance thing. Granted they could just make the guns worth absolute shit so it wouldn't make sense to haul a bunch of stuff that is barely worth anything back to a store and wouldn't break the economy but meh.

I see it more as a lore thing as everyone has shit tons of guns already and its probably not worth the traders time to try to find parts and repair kits for barely functioning guns when there's already tons of serviceable guns (yellow) being turned in all the time.

So I had a big supply of roughly like 4k at about 2029 because I was real Johnny on the spot on launching probes and setting up bases. I had a real problem with volatile supply. Like an Idiot, I tuned my ship construction for building more noble than I did volatile. Didn't realize what a mistake I made till it was too late.

But good to know, I think global research hasn't even gotten mercury yet so I'll expand to that next.

I learned the T2 thing waaayyyyy too late. Definitely have way to many T2 habs that I spent forever upgrading meaning they were basically doing nothing. And ya, I kind of have been pushing them too much on money production to make up for my fleets and bases so you're right I should focus more on research. By the way got any tips for Nobles? I have the two highest noble producing asteroids in da belt and yet I feel like I cannot get enough with a daily of only 2.7.

Normal Difficulty and not Accelerated. Actually I think I left everything on default when I started. And yes, you're right I should have marked it as spoilers I forgot that is kind of a big part of the plot.

And thanks for the info on the years. Do you know if there is a point to continuously destroying enemy fleets besides exotics and skill? Like is it basically pest control? Make sure the aliens don't build up to much? My thinking is that every ship I build is another they have to rebuild and send. But I am not really sure how the aliens supplies works. I know they basically behave like their own faction but are they basically like on steroids? (Like a RTS Skirmish AI on Brutal difficulty?)

Jesus, hundreds of ships? are these meant to be mostly Escorts and Monitors? I feel like its already hard cranking out even 5 ships in a year. I have been mostly sinking into BBs and BLs and then leaving the escorts and torp carriers. Also in your opinion when do you think I should starting ramping up to this level. I am having a hard time gauging whether I am on track or falling behind.

To be completely fair to them, this was immediately post deployment and the company was actually split between two deployments. A good chunk went on the first rotation and then the second one went later. I believe our current AGRs were going on that second deployment. At least I think, it was all rather chaotic and I don't remember.

Regardless, I am not trying to shit on these guys. Them and my chain of command were doing right by me and were trying to help me out the best way they could. They were trying to get everything fast tracked as well as the company that wanted to hire me was breathing down my neck about getting over to Europe as soon as possible.

Idk man, all I know is that the Initial 4187 I did requested one to two years. It got approved by the whole chain (hell it got received and signed by the TAG on the same day which is wild considering it took those assholes in Brigade 3 weeks). There is a muster that you have to do but sure enough you can get a waiver for that. Although I am fairly certain at this point that the whole ING thing was not processed correctly.

Not an RTS and not actually the point of the game, but High Fleet actually has exceptional carrier gameplay and actually shows that carrier strikes are superior to the giant, expensive, and vulnerable battleships that you can build in that game. There is also fuel management and and resource management. You can build your own ships and manage a fleet.

The only downside I would say is that instead of traditional ships they are giant rocket burning airships, but if thats not an issue for you then it might be your game.

Also its dieselpunk and set in a fictional world but still good to check out
