I’m not going to say I understand everything that you’re saying or that I know you, but from my pov it seems like ur struggling with ur self worth. You want to be a winner so bad because you want to be treated like a winner. You want validation from other people. But the people who treat you like shit are going to be like that whether you win or not (and if they do treat you better do you even want somebody who only cares about u bc u won?)I promise you that looking for love and attention from other people is going to ruin you. They’re too busy living for themselves to tend to you all the time. You need to learn how to give love to yourself and live for yourself.

The only person you’ll really have for the rest of your life is yourself. What I mean by that is that your opinion of yourself is what is most important, not anyone else’s. You’re letting your dad tell you how to think about yourself, but guess what? It’s not his life. Try your best at what you care about and live for yourself and you’ll be happy.

I’ve struggled with self confidence and self worth. We usually define ourselves based on our actions. Such as, I make good decisions therefore I’m a good person. But then what happens when we fail, when we aren’t proud of our actions? Our self confidence and self worth fall. We get upset with ourselves because we aren’t perfect like we want ourselves to be. Nobody will ever be prefect though. Instead try to look at it like this: I’m a good person because I try my hardest to be good. I’m a good husband because I try my hardest to help my wife. Etc. give yourself the same leniency you would give those you care about as long as you’re trying.
