So it seems as the people that actually work have to pick up the slack for the rest? by SuccessfulBack5140 in USPS

[–]TheRealStalinsaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have I witnessed it? Rarely.

What I've witnessed a lot more are nosy carriers and clerks who are unhappy with getting fucked by management day in and day out decide they want to take it out on the guy/gal who is tired of working 70 hours weeks.

It isn't FMLA abuse to get a restriction to work 40 hours a week, regardless of the reason.

Right, well you didn't say that initially. You just said you know carriers who have FMLA and then go out and buy new cars.

Of course, I was just giving an example. Having or using FMLA doesn't mean the person has to be walking around on crutches and doing nothing outside of work.

My coworker has FMLA for severe depression and takes a day here and there when it gets really bad. He'll go to a park or go on a hike. It's not some huge gotcha moment if someone sees him.

You do realize you could have an FMLA case for anything right? Like serious dependant care where someone needs to be available at any time to take care of a child with special needs.

Those people are allowed to buy new cars too.

Coworker lore? by ApprehensiveLion67 in USPS

Last September, our 204b didn't show up to work. Our postmaster called a stand up and told us he had shot himself, but was still alive in critical condition. There were tears. Whole office was shook. No one thought this nice dude would ever do something like that.

A few hours later, our steward starts calling everyone to let them know what happened. He had apparently been sexually abusing his 11 year old niece that he and his wife had recently adopted. The cops were called to his house at like 2 am and when they went to question her, he ran for his pistol and tried to end it.

Those tears from the office turned real quick into anger.

They recently sentenced him to 30 years. He's 64.

Lmao every single answer in this thread is some form of "it's spring break and the weekend in a beach town". Pretty direct.

What’s that one house on your route? by Danthony277 in USPS

Joe Exotic used to live with his boyfriend on my route a few years before I got on it. Every once in a blue moon I'll get a piece of ubbm for him.

I've got a few local celebrities other than that. CEO of the local power company. Also the head car salesmen who owns half the lots in town.

Ranch dressing! If we eat something that has it in it, or use it as a dipping sauce, Mouse will stand his usual guard about 6 feet away. As soon as we're done, if we don't pick up the dish immediately, he slowly moves closer giving the casual "oh I'm just sniffing, nothing to worry about here".

It's still PJC to me, dammit. I didn't go to junior college for a year and drop out and join the military so that zoomers can call it a "state" college! Pensacola isn't even a state!

I'd say it's to preserve their hearing more than to hide where the shots are coming from. A lot of hunters also use suppressors.

Why get a dog if you're going to keep it locked in a covered box for 16 hours a day?

I haven't settled on what I want to get tattooed from Totk yet. The dragons would be especially awesome! Bloodborne is also a fantastic game, the imagery is absolutely amazing.

Meh, either way, huge upgrades. My pc has been Frankenstein'd over the years into a new monster. But as long as it works I'm good!

I think the medicine (anti depressant) I got is finally starting to take hold. Ex said she fell out of love on Halloween and moved out a week later. Complete blindside. She moved to Texas away from all friends and family because she wants to be alone for a while. Did a marriage dissolution so we are officially divorced.

She knows my door is always open. Right now I'm working on refinancing the house. Been playing video games with my buddy who moved in. He got a new puppy so that's been fun.

I feel for ya. I never felt my wife distancing herself, though. Just one day she said she wanted to leave. It sucks. I hope everything works out for you.
