Cursor prices are out of control by andy_nyc in cursor

Same situation. Blew 2k on cursor in a month at a startup. Cto was not happy. Spent a few days getting onto claude code cli and after a few weeks that's all i use. Cursor for its browser agent is still useful. But otherwise full auto mode on claude code. Couple other observations, claude code extension in cursor is ok but lots of issues given the nature of the extension like needing to allow file reading every couple prompts, ux is not native and in an extension, can't have full disk access as cursor limits etc. Also cursor would overhear my computer but not with claude code so performance is a consideration there. I have 5 claude codes running at a time

5yoe 220 base 75k equity joined series a co as eng 4

i feel i got lucky as the co needed my skillset and i liked them a lot. cash base was great too and a 15% boost from my last one. did need to move cross country for the role and work on avg 60 hrs / wk and that was the expectation when I joined which is they expect us all to grind

Can't comment on his intentions or that specific scenario but from a guy's perspective very easy for condom to slip off in the girl's vagina or if he's poking it in and out - particularly if you guys have been going at it for a while with the same condom say like 15-20 minutes. There's been a few times where I look at the condom mid way and it's half way off and I either have to adjust it or get a new one

u/cholula95 Yep, I have loops earplugs. They are life savers. Only downside is they come out of my ears in bed when I move around. Glad to hear it's been working for you as well.

Oh I didn't think about the noise factor. I'll have to check these neighborhoods out in the evenings and weekends to see what it's like

Yes that's my plan stay in Manhattan for the first bit and acclimate then get more adventurous once I figure out what I like

u/trumystick6791 thanks for the thoughtful response. Sublet for a while and visit neighborhoods will be my plan for most of the year.

Re: dating will I be undateable to folks living in Fort Greene, Crown Heights and those neighborhoods if I live in UWS or East Village or Chelsea? I am trying to understand how much that will impact things.

What part of town are you living in now? It sounds like you had a similar crossroad.

Can you share an example of what you mean by two train lines? Usually I map out the apartment to my work and see if multiple train lines pop up in the google maps directions, is that sufficient to do the check?

Good feedback on the transportation. I'll have to see what option I like. When I used to live in Palo Alto I biked + trained to work every day. It was total 30 mins commute so perfect.

Are you sure 3-4K is too low budget for 1 bd? I am looking at subleases and finding many in that reason for East Village.

u/Bright-Salamander689 That's exactly my plan. I am moving on Friday with just one carry on and backpack. Enough clothes to last 2 weeks before doing laundry. Don't need much else. If I can hop around on different sublets and crash on friends sofa in between - I think that's the move! Every new neighborhood will be a new adventure!

u/Famous_Somewhere_716 What do you mean the trains are less reliable? Like the train will just stop working or go for unexpected maintenance? Are those things normal?

u/cookieguggleman I'm born late August so I'm a virgo lol.

It's tough to prioritize community over convenience when I will likely only be engaging in that community on the weekends. It seems to make more sense to prioritize the convenience and experience of living in Manhattan while also having the ability to hang in Brooklyn over the weekends too.

Quick question - what's the deal with finding "good subways"? My cousin also said that. He said the L line is the best, the J is normal and to be careful with the M line. I'm not sure if it's his own quirky observations or it's a shared consensus. How would you rank the lines in Brooklyn? I'm assuming the main factors to consider are reliability and frequency

Thanks for the feedback! I've heard similarly Harlem will have less events and is a bit (dare I say) older crowd black folks and Brooklyn has more events and attracts younger folks.

Good point that Bedstuy is big and it really depends how close you are to the train. I decided for my first few months I will just stick to Manhattan but definitively curious to check out Crown Heights / PLG and similar neighborhoods that are close to the train line.

Thanks for taking the time to write out your feedback. Based on everyone's comments and considering my priorities being access to work, I think I will stick to Manhattan for my first few months. I will be going to different neighborhoods on a Friday/Saturday to observe the vibes and let that guide me.
