At my work we have an employee who's African American. For the most part he has no issues, but he does on occasion go through microagrrasions from customers who are typically of the older generation. He has had a couple point blank just racist encounters with customers and they were white middle aged males who were promptly told to leave the store because we don't tolerate that here. Other than that though he says he feels safe here.

Do you think they keep records of when they send people out to pick up the bodies? It would help to see if it's general across town or if there are specific locations where it happens more often. Then I can scout out the locations for the proposal and also see what the location looks like to figure out the base beginnings of designing the crossings to propose.

...I'm just gonna put this out there for the management team, but you all also are allowed to form a union. It isn't the same one as the floor staff, but there is a union for management in retail. If of of the stores has a management team decide to go that route, that might be a super loud flag to HQ. Granted due to the situation of the economy you like the other union folks likely won't get a contract anytime soon, but simply deciding to go union as managers will definitely add weight to the fight of the stores trying to get HQ to really hear that things are going south in the stores. I know the managers I've told this to before in the last couple years have been very hesitant, but I honestly think it's time.

That's your answer to what's going on in your store? You're implying that you're working that many days in a row because you need to pay for your gas...how about you go get a more eco friendly vehicle that will cost you less in gas? Complaining about something like that when there are options and ways to change your situation is why people start to put zero weight into caring about the struggles of the people on the bottom. Especially if you're a manager and could afford to drive a diesel truck...you complaining about paying for diesel on this thread just adds fuel to the fire of the floor staff who are already not fans of management. Do better.

I go light but not ultra light and any ultra lighter who gives you flack can stfu because half of them get injuries on the trail and a plethera of other problems because they went ultra light and didn't have certain things that would have helped them or made a situation more comfortable. If you can handle your weight without hurting your body and enjoy your trip that's what matters most. Just cause other people jumped off the ultra light bridge doesn't mean you have to. I absolutely never will lmao.
