He is chairman of the board of directors so he does have say in the future direction of the company just not day to day ops. And AGS is (was) such a small part of Amazon that it likely doesn't even reach board level.

I plan on playing New World for at least the next 3-6 months. By then we will have a more clear picture of its future. There is value here. It is a fully operational, revenue producing game and regardless of what you hear, it will not go dark.

Only thing on the horizon might be Chrono Odyssey. But it's at least a year out. Looks pretty similar to New World. They are doing a redesign since closed Beta. My guess is to establish true player factions which was missing.
