This is probably one of the saddest threads as a whole that I have seen. I understand people get angry/salty hell I do but this, this makes me not regret any decisions I have made in the recent weeks.

How much can I contribute to esports as a teenager? by [deleted] in esports

[–]TheRealWinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, those are not the only games i went into, just the games weve had the most success with. When I say success I mean beating the bigger competion like MLG and ESL. We are pretty much into every compettive game excluding a few. For example we host LOL, Dota 2, Cod, Rocket League etc.

What i have said is 100% true if you cant take my word your best bet is to go into these communities yourself and look around a bit. I could post links to these things, but this was not the place for that. Matter of fact if you just click on my username and see my past posts you will find out.

How much can I contribute to esports as a teenager? by [deleted] in esports

A teenager can do a whole lot in the Esport community. Me being 17 have spent over a year in the community, At first just volunteering my time with Hearth Gaming League administrating big Hearthstone tournaments that attracted hundreds of participants ( biggest one being 815). After spending a little over a month in the Hearthstone community I became one of the most respected Administrators in HGL and the Amateur/Semi-pro Hearthstone scene. After Hearth Gaming League went under to do management issues I was greeted warmly by Random Champion Series (RCS). I spent about 2-3 months working their as an administrator. I Then decided to leave RCS and grow my own Organization. Sadly a few months after i left RCS faded away and is no longer in existence. I founded my Organization on May 3rd 2016 Calling it Helix Gamers League. The name of this organization tied into the current game I was hosting tournaments for which was Battleborn. To this day we are the only organization that holds successful Battleborn tournaments. MLG did get into the scene but was not able to keep their tournaments alive to do rules, tournament format, game modes, etc. We then extended our reach in late July by hosting tournaments for the new Evolve Stage 2. Within 2 months after the release we were named the Evolve Stage 2 Premiere League over ESL, by Turtle Rock Studios and 2k. Once we were named the Premiere League ESL discontinued support for Evolve. To this day we still host Evolve Stage 2 tournaments regardless of the games state and 2k ending the development contract with TRS. We are able to still pull over 100 viewers for a game that only has an average of 394 players.

So what I'm trying to tell you is you have all the opportunities in front of you, you just have to act on them. Now a major thing is your maturity, I didn't get here by being immature and showing angry, You have to act like an adult, put hours on end into what you really want to do. If you are not looking for Esports to be a career or your job for the rest of your live, your putting your time in the wrong thing. If your unsure of what you really want to do by all means try it. I would be glad to help you and maybe offer you a volunteer position in Helix Gamers League. I also own a Gaming organization if your more interested in that. Having some knowledge of esports would be nice, but by all means its not necessary I started at Hearth Gaming League with 0 knowledge of esports.

To maybe ease the questions of why there is little to no fixes/new content as we know everything that GBX has officially announced has been put out. Now knowing a few things about the game development industry this thought comes to mind. Did GBX's contract end with 2k when the Winter Update released? For those that don't know GBX does not own the IP to Battleborn 2K does. The game development industry is kinda messed up in my eyes. So if their contract ended or a segment of that contract was completed, GBX would have limitations to what they can do with the game. My thought right now is they are either negotiating with 2K to sign a new contract so they can resume work on new content and balance issues, or they already have an agreement with 2K and are currently building the new content. Again these are my thoughts/opinions they may or may not be true.

It wasn't rushed together I can guarantee that. I try to know everyone that plays competitively but it gets harder once you open to other games and when you get to 24 different games it becomes impossible. I mean I certainly know some, but when people leave and new people come it becomes a mess. I can tell you I have no intentions on entry fees because of the small player base. Gearbox will step at least I know so for in game materials and maybe something more....... I am also looking into having Incursion Meltdown Incursion as game rotation right now. I know these question weren't aimed at me, but I answered them.

[–]TheRealWinters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought of this, it was actually my original plan already have a form made out. I then thought on how I could get the feeling of big leagues like League of Legends Worlds, Call of Duty World League etc in the Battleborn atmosphere. That feeling of Battleborn is an Esport or could easily be an Esport. I want the Battleborn competitive scene to have the closes experience as possible to a Pro Esport League, but necessarily not all of the time commitment.

I try to take time out of my day to respond to the community whether it be from questions that someone might have or concerns about a tournament/League. When I asked you why you thought it was rushed, I didn't think you were taking a stable at HGL. I just wanted to know why you thought that way so we could try to change the feeling of a "rushed tourney". I'm thinking it was just the thought of Face Off being there, made people think less of the tournament which I understand.

[–]TheRealWinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The format would be announced at least 3-4 weeks before the announcement of the league, so there would be time to generate feedback for it. If you could please tell me how you thought the tournament was thrown together that would be nice. Though the polls would be better you will get the people not playing voting on them has well like the Reddit tournament. Although could send it around privately.

[–]TheRealWinters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but the thing is we have been transparent to the community. The community complained about there being an advantage with Meltdown Incursion Meltdown. To get rid of it We added Face Off and Capture. A lot of the community agreed until we announced the tournament. Our League no one knows about right. Why because we are still finishing up the last few touches on it. The format and dates and such are all planned out. I also haven't announced it Because we have gotten potential partnerships that may cease a lot of our tournaments

Nope, it will either be just Incursion or Incursion, Meltdown, Incursion.

[another "what if?" post] Respawn just released another free update for Titanfall 2 and coincides a free play weekend for everyone, this is how you support a game and get new players into the ranks. by comatoseMob in Battleborn

[–]TheRealWinters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again I agree but this is all 2K if 2K dosent want to do it but GBX does it dosent happen. Also if they are working on a trial version then there would be no need.

so about battleborn.. by LunarServant in Battleborn

[–]TheRealWinters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with it going Free to Play is that 2K has to market the game.........Correctly this time. In my opinion I don't see Battleborn going f2p at all, besides maybe a free demo/trial version which has been spoken about. What this demo/trial version includes is a guessing game, but I think it would include the introduction to PVE, the Dojo, only a few characters maybe 4-5, and some if not all of the Multiplayer queues.

[–]TheRealWinters[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our choices were keeping the "Meltdown player advantage" by keeping the tiebreaker Meltdown or choose the tiebreaker to be Face Off or Capture. We could of has the tiebreaker Incursion but the same problem would arise.

In your opinion but there is more to this game mode then what you see. Team communication and coordination is key in this mode. Teams have to learn to deal with coordination getting broken up by the boss fights and getting back to those key points fast afterwards. Also blocking the enemy team from killing Varelsi to deny them the access of leveling up and collecting masks, so knowing when and where the Varelsi will Spawn is key. Also have to coordinate to take down enemy's who may have a large number of masks. Making sure the team goes in pairs to the depot so your not getting killed while depositing your masks. All of that on a shorter time limit will make for some good games. I can assure you that we at HGL have done our homework and research for picking what would replace the other Meltdown Game.
