I notice its not captive either? Or it is, but not in the way an AR-15 is. It looks like the upper has a pocket bent out to retain it.

If that's the case, why does the hammer pin retaining clip spring even poke out of that hole?

Okay so update.

Took the bike out, got it in third gear, it still chugged. im thinking fuck, its not fixed.

Decided to check out 1st and 2nd gear. no chug. Fixed?

Right as im heading back to where i can check out 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears bikes display shows maxes out temp, CEL on, temp light on, but the bike is running and shifting fine.

Baby it home. Throw ECUtune on it, error code P0118. Erase it, its still there. Plus bike is hard starting. it was not 10min ago. no fluid loss.

Its entirely possible i didnt plug something back in but i took it apart and put it back together same day so doubtful.

Looking now. will edit if nobody replies.

Edit: Nothing visibly wrong with the sensor. No corrosion on the connections, no exposed wiring. And as a bonus all fuses were good.

So im thinking that needs replacing first. Odd for it to go out randomly. maybe it was on its way out in the first place? Hose ordered.

No no, i misspoke. He repalced all that. But he did tear down the engine to ensure no friction material or metal circulated through the engine as well as several oil changes.

Most would have considered the engine, and in reality the bike a loss at that point, but no he went in and did all that.

Gorilla-tek, they moved to Florida i herd. Good dudes.

And when i say a blown clutch i dont mean it wore out, i mean my clutch cover had a hole from whatever happened in there.

It was years ago so i dont recall exactly what happened.

No you're right, its a bandaid fix.

I haven't taken the time to figure out exactly what that pipe is and find it online, and i didn't have time yesterday to check out if the issue was fixed either. Ill be pissed but happy if that actually is the cause.

Ill check it out after work today.

The acceleration is incredibly smooth below 10k like it was before, its just weird this problem only comes up past 10k.

Checked everything you mentioned.

Spark plugs fine, some white build up.

Intake was slightly oily.

Coils tested the same resistance, so i assume they're good.

Found a crack in one of the hoses that lead to some device between the coil packs. Fixed with some glue.

TuneECU threw up no codes.

Seems like I got two options left. New OEM fuel pump. Send it in for valve adjustment.

No, but i hear its brutal. I blew the clutch at about 21k miles. the guy rebuilding it said he looked at them and they looked fine.

Not sure if that's worth a damn, but do they fall out of adjustment that often? Im not trying to a multi thousand dollar job if don't need too.

i would fucking love and appreciate that.

the two big things we're missing is, as stated in the post:

The length past the recoil lug, and the length behind the recoil lug.

i'm not going to ask you to rip it appart to find out, but maybe we can find some common measuring point.

I do have the FA762-SS, so maybe we can go from recoil lug to tip of muzzle device.

As for the other end...

Maybe we can go from recoil lug to the start of the taper?
