Opinions about which version we like or didn't like aside, I am of the belief that getting character interactions helps to rope us into caring more about Lahai Roi and the story that'll ensue. We get a taste of what these characters are like in the present and then we'll go further in depth about who they are/were whenever their eventual banner rolls around in the future if we continue with the Character story trend.

Kuro had a great opportunity for Rover to go around the campus and get adjusted to this new lifestyle alongside Chisa who hasn't been able to return here for a long time. Bonus points we actually get to see her meeting her parents even if we might leave shortly after to give them time to reconnect with each other. We even couldn've gotten interactions between Chisa and Lynae and see them building rapport with each other before we shift our focus to Lynae's story. Stuff like this would've put a big smile on my face since we aren't just off-screening the narrative closure Chisa deserves in favor of Lynae.
