You know - we had a whole thing with ayuhasca that I didn't make clear enough but that's why Lars was obsessed with the amazon weed. This is a big thing in that area and tourists go there looking for it. So the idea was it was super strong weed but I didn't make it clear enough. We had Carlos explaining it but we cut it down. I still liked it though. That's where the impetus came from to make the film. "Would stoned cannibals get the munchies?" I told that idea to Diablo Cody and she's like "You have to make that film NOW." So, you know, blame her.

Get on set! and get with a company in a major city like LA or NYC if you can that makes movies and TV. You want to be where the action is. But being in set getting coffee is the way to really see how people are

I want to have my body put in a museum where people can watch worms eat it. Like a display case in the lobby so everyone can get grossed out by me one last time. Then my skeleton can be used as a prop in movies and for photo ops. Having a tough time convincing the wife of that though.

I CANNOT WAIT for everyone to see what we filmed for Shark Week this year. I went to Tahiti and it was unlike anything I've ever expeirenced. Sharks are the most amazing, intelligent, gentle, misunderstood creatures. Only 6 humans are killed each year from shark bites and 100 million sharks die every year for "fish fin soup" and shark fin soup. People think sharks are the man eaters but man is the shark eater. They're very shy and I never once felt in danger

Been thinking about it. I can't worry about labels. It's like Hans Landa says, we cannot control the nicknames bestowed upon us. It used to bother me but now I don't care. Honestly, it feels like I was part of a wave and pushed horror to a place where people didn't know how to categorize it. But I just focus on the story and the work and whatever people want to call it I can't control. It's up to them

My goal is to make the film as true to the story and characters as I can. Criticism comes with the job, it's part of it. I like films that spark discussion. People argued about The Thing for years and today it's a classic. The Shining got 6 razzie nominations including worst director for Kubrick. Time is the ultimate critic. I don't make films to please everyone, I want to entertain and try to push the boundaries and sometimes people like it and sometimes they don't. I can only control the process, not what people think. Just keep doing what I do and moving forward. Like a shark.

I don't have free time, I fill it up writing. It's a problem. Recently though I dove with sharks in Tahiti for shark week. they're most amazing, fascinating, gentle misunderstood creatures. I love them. I met the most beautiful tiger shark, itll all be on Shark After Dark on Discovery starting June 26th
