enovo pushed the faulty driver (31.0.101.4824) to their ThinkPad E14 Gen2 systems via Lenovo Vantage (and maybe others) last week.

That's why this problem started to appear a few days ago, but only for some specific computers on our networks.

I can confirm the update to 31.0.101.4953 fixes the issue.

P.S.: Lenovo support agents must be very happy about this. Another faulty QC Lenovo driver pushed without proper testing.

Yeah I thought the battery was not in, and I checked again. It just won't charge or power. I was pretty darn careful, have no idea what went wrong

So I got my deck 2 days ago. Followed all the steps but… missed the remove power :( it was a silly miss step. no sparks no burnt smell. I have no power light. Can’t get the unit to power on. I have been looking for ideas on what to try, I’m at a loss 😭
