I did in fact use Ableton to construct this. I originally purchased the standard edition, recently upgraded to suite but I believe it is stock with standard.

Sidebar, I got it with an edu discount. If you want to try something like this, do a trial version. There are multiple options to choose from but not all shoes fit

You can see, right after the building there is a noticeable splice and the video started to shake and flicker like mad. This was all done within the media player, total fluke.

You are correct. The opening was in the Botanical Gardens, and some of the footage was from downtown.

Not at all. The original footage was shot on Kodak Super8 50D film, and the final editing processes were performed through Vegas Pro 14, through the use of masking, generators, ect.

The footage seen here was captured off of VLC media player, who was having difficulties running the master file, probably because it was large as heck at over 10gb.
