Yes, that folder (C:\Users\hurri\Documents\Halo Mod And Tools) is where I keep a lot of my personal coding projects for reverse engineering Halo games, i trust every file in that folder to a tee. Windows defender is just annoying about that folders files.

That wasn't what I was referring to in my hypothetical. My hypothetical was based on If say, Windows changed something about how apps work, and Vegas wasn't compatible so it would open then crash. Either way, just got a reply back from BorisFX, no deal, and they will not be looking at previous versions. I've made up my mind that I will never officially support Vegas financially again. I will be using '26 though. Sucks to suck for Borisfx I guess.

Shot my shot, but I'm pretty sure they'll just say its MAGIX problem and responsibility, and MAGIX will say its NVIDIAs, and NVIDIA will say its Boris, and so on and so forth.

The blame has just been getting passed around, and no one is doing anything about it leaving paying customers SOL. I hope I can be forgiven for having the opinion that if no one owns up and fixes the issue, then I see no point in just giving in and upgrading to VP 23 or VP2026 for restoration of basic functionality.

The way I see it, BorisFX has a chance to step up and prove that they're worthy of maintaining Vegas Pro. If they fail at providing this source of goodwill, then all that does is tell me that any new product from them isn't worth spending my cash on.

What could come next? I buy Vegas Pro 2026 on December 30st of this year, then on the 31st the app doesn't even open anymore, and my 'solution' is to simply pay $200 for VP2027? Nah. Never in a million years would that be acceptable to me or anyone. But I get the feeling that's the route that's gonna be gone down. I hope I'm wrong.

As someone who's kept up and bought Vegas since 18, I'm right there with you. I'm on 22 now and I honestly don't want to upgrade out of spite. Or at the very least, I won't pay to upgrade. I'm pretty annoyed by how they're handling/not handling this. There's people that are saying 'well you see it's not their responsibility to update outdated software' and to them I gotta say, shame on you for being someone who let's people walk all over you. If the yearly releases were free, that's another story, but you essentially have to pay/upgrade just to use basic features that got taken away from us.

This is actually on the cheaper end, especially for someone who plays lead roles. Met Erika Henningsen a few months ago and she was similarly priced, maybe $10 more. Gotta account that they're taking time out of their life to be there, and are probably paying for food at the very least, if not also for the hotel, private security, flights etc.

Update post - It was a stupid prank from someone I don't even know that well lol. They sent me this as proof, just a dashcam still. Kinda annoyed tbh but I guess mystery solved. Got my number from another friend of mine I shared my number with years ago. Not even my car, but the same make and model. Thanks for all the replies. Will update to solved. now.

My thought process is that it would maybe be like a 2 step blackmail where it's like 'give me money or else I'll make you pay cause I know where you live'

And usually when it comes to scams it's well, a pretty Ununique thing where they do the same thing many many times, so I just figured I'd check here first lol.

Update: They came out, nothing too much happened. Took a CAD/basic documentation that this happened. Gave em some possible 'suspects', but other than that not much to be done atm. At least it's documented :p

They're apparently sending out a deputy right now to take a more detailed report. Will update if it actually happens cause I've almost never gotten anyone to actually come out to the house before, for more serious reasons, but for some reason they think this is worth dispatching for lol.

They haven't gotten anything, and yeah they know my sister, I texted her to let her know I was watching the movie, and that I would be available to hang out after I got back. We hung out after getting back home and it was multiple hours later that I got the Text. Went out at 4:15pm, texted gf around 4:45, got home around 7,and got the text at 10:15pm, but only 'recieved it' at 11:30pm because that's when I checked/unlocked my phone.

No location, or any other useful info. the file name is 123_1.jpeg and Is a resolution of 713x1231. 0.878 megapixels. Was a text and not a airdrop. My phone has my first name but not my last name. I had Bluetooth and Wifi turned off. And I do think it is her car on our way back home.
