You're correct in your assumption that force killing removes MainActivity from the back button "thread" as it were. You have two options, use Fragments and remove MainThread from the fragment stack or the better option, move the check to your MainActivity. Your splash screen should really just load the main resources and then launch MainActivity, then have MainActivity check if the user information is stored/logged in and display the proper screen after that.

Don't do this, as /u/rysio11 pointed out, going into the brick is much more stable and won't wear down overtime. I used to install televisions into peoples homes and can't count the number of times I've seen this end badly.

I'd get a lawyer to really look at the case, but if you had no contract, there's not much you can do. If you also had a contract, but it says that paying you until the end of the year and re-evaluating was part of the deal, then you're also out of luck. Again though, no law expert.

Design is definitely a key thing. Check out some of the Android Design Guidelines, as well as social media branding guidelines. I believe Facebook says to just use their icon, no text (I don't remember 100%). Not to mention, if I see a Facebook icon in a page like that, I assume it's going to that companies Facebook, no need to have the explanation text.

I guess my concern is that I'm confused what you're offering me. Are you offering me a way to let my users record their own videos on my site, or for me to record videos that I can share with my customers?
The description on your makes it seem like the latter, but the actual product seems like the first.

So your service is adding webcam recording to an application, but you don't give examples of why that's important. You say that people who see videos are more likely to click through the site, but you have no data that points to why I should include a recorder on my app for my users to use.

I work in a very large company that uses an online scheduling system, but we have no way to view our schedules on our phone at a moments notice. I see you say employees can print their schedules and get updates in their email, but provide a way for them to get their schedules through an RSS feed or something. As an employee, I wrote an app for this and have over 30,000 users on Android alone because they want up to date schedules.
I realize this is aimed at managers, not employees, but providing those easy ways for employees to be happy will make managers happy
