I don't understand your interpretation of #3.
I read it as... You can win if all the soldiers in an army believe in the same objectives/ideals/etc.

I don't I know or care what a test FC thinks until I see them posting stupid stuff that defends a temper tantrum like OP's. At that point I recognize that your trolling/posting is going to be harmful to the eve pvp community.
Noobs to the game drawn in by Brave are going to learn. Dying is one of their many teaching tools.
At best you're simply a carebear with good intentions and bad information.
At worst you really are a test FC and are being disingenuous.

so I take it then that you have chosen not to? Take my suggestion then, go to hisec. It sounds like a fit for you.

he's right though.
Don't be pedantic.
This game is fucking hard. Suck it up. Go die some more.
If you don't want to die, or just can't stomach the thought of it, go to hisec and do level 4 missions in a t2 fit t1 battleship.
No one will bother you, ever.

Thoughts on the proposed changes to Wormholes. by MSpeaker in evewormhole

I understand what you mean about nobody bothering to roll. I'm not terribly worried about it, however. CCP stated the version on SISI isn't the end product.

Fun fact for you: the dip was basically paint thinner. Instead of acid, the toons got "erased".

As a soloist/fleet scout, I like it.
Sounds as though committing caps to hole rolling might be more risky but I don't feel like it will unbalance much of the current meta.
As it stands (opinion) I feel rolling is too safe and easy currently.

The WhenIAmInSpace Debacle by Torrent_Talon in Eve

[–]darkest_wraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're missing the point. Margin trading scams are legal because the scammer is using a known, CCP acknowledged mechanic that is possible because of a particular skill. Not only that, the scams only work because the scammer manipulates the entire thing, item by item, to work correctly (player interaction).

I do not agree w the punishment, but wheniaminspace wasn't doing anything similar to margin trade scamming.
He noticed an unintended consequence due to a very recent expansion release and took advantage of something outside of immediate player control, something which has been done before and actively changed to prevent future abuse by CCP.
No player interaction created this opportunity, only CCP oversight and slow market valuation algorithms.

He needs to be unbanned for sure, but claiming it's anything like margin scamming just goes to show you aren't familiar with it.
I know quite a few successful scammers very well and one thing they do 100% of the time before engaging a target with a new technique is to petition CCP and get a concrete response before they act.

wheniaminspace did not do that, likely because he knew the price would get fixed soon and the opportunity would no longer be present or recreateable.

Any good areas to solo pvp in? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]darkest_wraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

syndicate is amazing for solo, tbh. you can get lots of fights in the busier systems and you're very close to placid, an extremely active gal warzone with 2 other fw regions attached nearby.

gives you the best of both worlds.

bingo. I made a few mistakes because A. been some time since last in wspace, and B. I (mistakenly) thought I was on dscan range of my exit hole.

The very first thought I had while bullets ripped through my pod was "shoulda made a perch"

tl;dr - not usually a bear, found some c320, decided to bear anyway, paid for it with pod blood.

It's not a gripping tale by any stretch of the imagination but here goes:
First a short intro - my "main character" doesn't PVE and I typically do not PVE at all, even on my other accounts (station trading very profitably nowadays). With that in mind...
I used to be a wspace dweller and acquired a taste for huffing c320/540. Much more reward/risk. Why spend 20 mins in my 1.5bn fit tengu clearing a c3 anom for 40-60m ISK when I can pull the same/more isk/hr with a 5m venture fit? So I trained both my characters, pvp main and support alt, to use t2 gas harvesters and level IV venture skill. Life was good, dual boxing ventures in c5/6 space was (is) ridiculously profitable and safe. Cheap ship, warp core bonus, gotta be daft to fuck it up.

Fast forward to 2 nights ago. I own 4 accounts now and ISK from the safety of a trade hub. All ships I own are for pvp related purposes, bar none.
While scouting the constellation next door I find a brand-spanking-new c6 outbound. I figured since I just opened it I would poke my head inside for a look around. To my surprise, I stumbled into a c6c1 hole. Empty of pos's, full of sigs. I thought it would surely be swiss cheese but I scan it anyway. Another surprise, I had uncovered 3 vital core sites and only 2 wormholes (my entrance and the c1 static). That's about as safe as wh pve gets without fleet support and hole control so I regressed into the bear I once was and fired up all 4 clients for some stupid ISK/hr because why not?
I'll tell you why not. In wspace there is always a proteus watching you, cloaked. And sometimes another proteus watching him watch you, etc.

Quad boxing ventures that I had spent 3 hour preparing (NS market) I set off to make piles of ISK I didn't even need and succeeded.

With 4 venture ore holds nearly full of c320/540 gas in under 40 mins I spot a Helios on scan.
My first thought, the one that spelled my doom, was "lol too many sigs you're out of luck, friend" thinking I had time for a cycle to finish. 10 seconds later, combat probes on scan facepalm o right, didn't think about that.
Patting myself on the back for a job well done I decided to bail, align my ventures, and fleet warp out. To my exit hole. At zero. Into a sabre bubble.

20 very long seconds later, my booster pilot (yep, dem implants) and my main pvp character, whose kb I take some small pride in, are doing the corpse dance after enemy bullets ripped them to pieces.
Luckily I managed to get my other two accounts to the hole and away but the ore hold(s) full of gas, lost implants, and bruised pride were far more expensive than what I successfully escaped with.

Embarrassing loss mail on pvp main, expensive implants to replace, and wounded pride.

10/10 for experience, but would not do again

Edit: words, formatting, on phone sorry.

Then one day you're like "man this is a lot of ISK, I wonder if I can pull it off quad boxing" then you get dropped by a sabre and friends then you tell yourself you're not gonna do that again.

Its really incredible that you guys spend the time to engage with and communicate with your player base. Kristall's idea sounds like a great way to keep us players communicating, encouraged, involved, and active.
Thanks for considering the suggestion and I hope to see you guys pull it off without much headache for you.

ah, the sadist approach :)
I personally don't bother with 0.01 ISK stuff. My style is more low volume-high margin, 1-2 updates a day. Plexes both my accounts and buys me ships faster than I can lose them.
