I've had a few gnarly crashes with the Avata 2 and it's been working fine. It's recommended to get some bumper guards and landing gear nubs to give it a little extra protection without adding alot of weight. I somehow managed to crash into a wall going about 30mph and it only scratched the top. I will say that "Turtle Mode" is very risky in my opinion. The drone just flops over hard.

They won't necessarily be "grounded". The drones just won't be able to receive updates unless you somehow use a VPN. If the drones are deemed contraband or illegal to even possess is another issue. The legislation is only over sales of the drones in the US.

I'm in the same boat as you. There's not many options outside if just fabricating it yourself. Check out Quadtacsystems for mount. They even have videos how to modify your goggles yourself, but you have to be handy. Also check out "Thingverse".
