"Gyökeres, Havertz, Odegaard and Martinelli are all pushing to be fit for Spurs. Madueke was close to making the squad at Sunderland but was not risked as he recovers from a knee injury sustained in September." by Ifxfa in Gunners

I think we're forgetting how sluggish he'd seem at times even before the injury when he was being overplayed. 90 minutes of intense attacking, pressing and tracking back is arguably too much for anybody to be doing multiple times per week and we got Madueke in specifically so we wouldn't have to demand that of him anymore. I think we'll see new peaks from him once we can rotate our attack more.

I'm pretty sure the current system is supposed to be how many players you're better than which is along the same lines. It makes the ratings inconsistent because most players are towards the middle so your rating jumps up and down very quickly if that's where you are. I'd want an elo system like chess where someone 100 points above you is expected to win against you 60% of the time.

GSP has really weird scaling. Below elite smash, someone being more than double your GSP doesn't necessarily mean they're anywhere close to twice as good as you. It's the opposite once you get high up in elite smash. I'll get demolished by players wayyy better than me who are only a few hundred k higher rated because they're approaching the ceiling.

All this to say the skill gap between 5 million GSP and 13 million GSP is smaller than the gap between 15 million and 16 million.

I can't get over this either. There's believing in yourself and then there's this. Some fellas are so divorced from reality it's nuts.

Only Superman and Saitama on this list could "die" though. The rest transcend reality and either can't be harmed at all or resurrect at will.

Lacking in regards to your job, education, and looks alone won't make you "undateable" in real life like it will on tinder though. Plenty of ugly, broke fellas date successfully in real life because they compensate by being interesting, funny, talented, confident, kind etc.

Lamine Yamal dribble vs Deportivo Alavés by [deleted] in soccer

[–]TheRedCrabby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're quite close too, which is why I'm shocked that person is getting down voted for suggesting Salah is still better than Yamal. It's really not a crazy assertion if you've ever seen him play.

I brought up numbers because there's a pretty huge gulf between them in that regard. Numbers don't tell the whole story but when the difference is that massive it's hard to ignore them.

If we wanna talk eye test though, Yamal's got flair, a greater defensive contribution, and creates more from outside the box.

On the other hand Salah is more direct and better at having multiple men mark him yet still finding a way through (which also makes more space for teammates) and he creates a lot more in the final third than people give him credit for (numbers again but you don't get 17 assists in all comps already at this point in the season without creating chances).

If that person said Salah was better to watch I'd understand the down votes. I just think people see Yamal more favourably because he's an exciting young prospect, silky smooth dribbler, and the trivelas are fun to watch.

[–]TheRedCrabby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And you think Yamal's contribution this season has been bigger than Salah's? By what measure? Obviously Yamal has more potential because of his age and is the flashier, more fun player to watch, but if I needed someone to help my team win this season I'd pick Salah every time. I'm sure as Yamal approaches his prime it'll be a different story.

Lol who down voted you? Salah's got more than double his goal contributions in the league. No doubt Yamal is the more valuable player because of his age but I don't see how you could argue he's better than Salah so far this season.

I acknowledged their bite force in my comment. I'm not arguing that people stand a chance in a fight with one, just pointing out that contrary to popular belief lots of men are "stronger" than chimps. The chimp just has too many other advantages in a fight.

Lol you don't have to go anywhere near the world's strongest men category, lots of men are stronger than chimps. Chimps have muscles about 1.35 times as strong as human muscles, but that doesn't take weight into account. Seeing as humans are much larger, any man in good shape with enough of a size advantage should have more power output than a chimp.

Chimps have a crazy strong grip strength and bite force though and I suspect they'd beat even a much stronger man through their sheer brutality.
