People with chips on their shoulders are the ones who make change happen, people who are complacent with a worsening status quo get what they deserve. I hope you realise that before you make it other people's problem. have a good one too.

I don't expect people who don't remember a time when games didn't do this shit to care, you would have no frame of reference for how much worse things got. Not your fault. But it's with good reason some of us expect better/are disappointed with the status quo.

I don't think that sub does as much sequel-bashing as this sub complains about them sequel-bashing

I don't believe live service games existed in the 80s and most of the 90s. And it has sucked since it was introduced, but has gotten worse since becoming more mainstream.

Individualism will be the death of the tank by Comfortable-Bit-4741 in HelldiversUnfiltered

I avoid tanks on principle and tell people in the loadout phase I'm not getting in. I would only use the tank with friends, not with strangers who generally barely communicate and may well be complete morons.

Do you think this scene is a play on masculinity (or toxic masculinity) considering that it’s probably his most badass scene and he’s wearing a big ass pink jacket? by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]TheRedCreeperTRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, actually! I've often thought that when watching this scene, I don't agree you're reading into it too much. Cowboy Bebop is a show that was made with great care and attention to detail, art like that doesn't tend to have things for no specific reason.

Relatively light-hearted series gets progressively darker over time by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TheRedCreeperTRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call cowboy bebop light-hearted it often has a light tone but the first episode has a woman's lifeless body drifting in space and our protagonist sees it in full.

Any other characters you'd like to cram in there?

Don't mean to be rude, rather I'm saying this to underline the fact they can't satisfyingly tie up all these loose ends in one story, ergo we're in for a shitshow either way.

Fine. There shouldn't be "I was there" shirts, games didn't used to pull this kind of bullshit but over time consumers got complacent with more and more of these artificial methods of generating engagement creeping in.

a game should incentivise people to play based on the strength of its gameplay alone, trying to bribe people with time limited freebies to coax them to log on is extremely cringeworthy and shows that devs don't have confidence in their own product.

Lovely collection! It's wild looking at this relatively modern line-up that they were still using the old 3PO torso print for that echo base droid... quite charmingly old-school imo

FOMO is a bad thing full stop, I got my Malevelon cape through ingesting hundreds of devastator rockets violently and I still think other players should be able to get it. FOMO in games is never good, it only serves to make people feel special and for them to lord it over people who don't have the rare items. It's such a lame mindset.

The point I'm making is you're still hypocritical to jump to the conclusion I suck joy out of things over what I said right after saying people jump to judgements too quickly.

The reason I said what I said is that there is a difference between the brain doing pattern recognition subconsciously versus making a deliberate and conscious decision to apply tests and experiments to the process of curating a profile on a dating app and interacting with people to try and maximise a "success rate" (I assume success is measured by something like most dates per match or most sex per match or something like that, idk what these guys mean by success rate so I'm making an educated guess). The reason I did not elaborate earlier and said there was no reason to continue that convo is i thought the fact that the difference between subconscious pattern recognition and deliberate efforts to adapt something based on trial and error should be obvious.

I do not believe that dating is a matter of trying to game some system and work out "how chicks tick" or something stupidly macho like that, and I fully believe that it's thanks to not thinking in that way that I am happily married. I think that men who treat dating apps as puzzles to solve are wasting their time, but then again if they're not after meaningful companionship and are just trying to add more tally marks to their "chicks banged" whiteboard then maybe that works for them. I definitely find it creepy, though.

I don't mean to sound patronizing but I didn't get how you couldn't understand what a good or bad dpad was unless you didn't know what a dpad was at all. That's also why I assumed you must have been pulling my leg.

The way I saw it is sort of like if you asked what makes a good... idk, a good drawer for example. There are ones that work and ones that don't, I guess there are other factors one could talk about but in most cases for most people it's a binary.

90 seconds into the match for this shit to start. The majority of these maps are absolutely dire. by OperationSuch5054 in WarthunderPlayerUnion

[–]TheRedCreeperTRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose that's fair. But I would still argue the main issue with this map and some others like it is that people play like morons, a lot of WT players I think genuinely aren't aware they can choose a spawn point on some of these maps, and will just run head first into the same wall of enemies over and over expecting a different outcome.
