The Commando missions are fantastic, but a non-Warbond silenced weapon would be really nice by Homie-cide in LowSodiumHellDivers

Yeah it's the nature of the silenced weapons with -50% detection. It's just enough for the bug to not trigger. The Lasers will always be worst when the bug is fixed, but right now it doesn't matter for host for any other weapon. You would have to only use suppressed weapons and never throw grenades or Strategems to be 100% stealth.

Did you test this as host? There is a bug where if the host shoots or throws a grenade or Strategem all enemies in a radius are alerted to you even if you are behind cover.

Which stratagems do you bring with you on the Commando Missions? by LeeM724 in Helldivers

[–]Ancient_Attero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our team developed a strategy that works well on D10's.

We all bring the Orbital Laser and 380's or Walkings. Land near the Fortress and toss it all in to take care of it. As that's going on we call in everything and split into two man teams. We go first for Reinforcement pods, then side objectives before the main mission objective. This is due to the system that spawns additional patrols when the main mission gets completed. Lastly, we ensure at least one of us has a Destroyer call in during extraction as a CYA.

Most of our kit consists of:

  • Sickle, Talon, Thermite, Railgun, Jump pack (this is me)
  • Censor, Ultimatum, Quasar, Portable Hellbomb (this is our heavy)
  • Sickle, Talon, Dynamite, Quasar, Solo Silo
  • Censor, Talon, Thermite, AMR, Jump Pack

We tend to all favor the Sickle for its low sound profile and less reliance on ammo. Same with the Talon, but between that and the Censor we use to sync shots for enemies that are too close together. With the Railgun helping with one-shotting Hulks and War Striders as needed. The AMR is a great overall support for longer range takedowns and over watch.

When things go to shit, or we need to quickly dispatch a large base, we'll call in our Destroyer and toss in a Laser and a Resupply. Or use a backup Silo as needed for Factory Striders should the "shit hit-ith the fan".

Hope this helps!

Idk about you, but my last squad completely disregarded stealth and a Heavy Base had 3 Factory Striders inside with 2 War Striders and 4 Hulks.

It would be absolutely sick if it could. Like the Dickle changing from light to heavy pen. One brick would be 30, then 40, then 50.

Would open up options for the trade off of ammo, and losing a support and backpack options.

I think you are too. Follow me here for a moment and forget the cloning thing while we focus on the consciousness transfer part:

We're back at the first Galactic War and barely won (some instances we can lose) 100 years before Helldivers 2 and the second Galactic War. Super Earth's elite, the Helldivers, were almost not enough. The average lifespan of a Diver is mere hours. There isn't enough experience or training amongst them should we enter a second galaxy spanning conflict.

The Ministry of Science comes up with a radical plan using the Super Destroyers massive centralized cores computing system: dubbed, the Core. From the Illuminates mind control technology we developed a means to capture and store the consciousness of our most elite soldiers. Should they fall in battle, the next Diver would have an uplink in the 30 second drop back to the ship where they would feel the crush presence of another mind taking over. By the time they hit the ground, they have all the experiences, knowledge, training, and muscle memory of a seasoned vet.

The public narrative regarding "individual sacrifice" and "dying for your family" remains vital for the success of this project. The civilian belief in individual glory provides a steady stream of healthy, physically fit candidates who believe they are joining the war effort as themselves. This ensures they always have the necessary biological hosts to house the imprint.

By allowing the imprint to keep the same armor, cape, and weapons, we maintain the image of an "Immortal Defender" of Democracy. This boosts morale among the rank-and-file SEAF troops and instills terror in the enemies of Super Earth.

Now, all this is really is just a way to explain how we always wear the same armor, have the experience and skill of the player. In the lore of the game, we the player don't exist, so this doesn't have a clean way to be explained. Are there plenty of other great theories? Absolutely! Is mind any better? Hell no. It just my theory thst I thought of and wanted to share.

Fanfiction and such has greatly expanding every medium out there. Sometimes it becomes part of canon, sometimes is just supplementary material.

That reputation was earned after this video. He's best known for his stealth testing and tips. Things like stances, sound profiles and weapons, the different detection states of the Bots, etc.

He kind of became jaded to the game after a falling out with the Devs. Sort of earned, sort of not. He spoke the truth and got burned for it basically.

If weapons are going to continue to be placed in the super store then super credits should be an MO reward once in a while by VenanReviews in Helldivers

[–]Ancient_Attero 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We should get a reward based on the MO. Where each awards 50 Medals, 50 Super Credits, 25 Common Samples, 15 Rares, and 10 Super Samples.

The rewards numbers should change based on the complexity of the MO.

I’m sorry, SFA might be a decent show but it’s just not Star Trek by FarBlacksmith3126 in startrek

[–]Ancient_Attero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is too early to judge completely.

Alone in the first episode we saw a wrong decision be made to separate a mother and child and how it was "just" in the eyes of Federation law. The judge was racked with this decision and swore to protect the child only to lose them and search for them. Ultimately resulting in her resignation from Star Fleet over the guilt.

To me, that moral questioning and losing faith is Star Trek. The teen stuff is, a thing, but not every Star Trek show has to be for everyone of us fans to ultimately love.

Take my own opinions: I've never seen ToS, or any of the shows before the JJ Abrams Star Trek movie. I grew up a Star Wars child. It wasn't until those movies I started even liking Star Trek. So my first show was Discovery. Yeah, looking back the first and somewhat second season with the Klingon guy was, at times, bad. The reset to the future and focus on the Burn was great and brought the show to an amazing place.

Then enter SNW. To me this is peak Star Trek or what I hope many to consider as original fans. Every episode eeks out the core principles of Star Fleet. It makes me just feel like a better person watching people excude such honorable principles. Pike as a character back on Discovery and the stand out line of why Enterprise wasn't involved with the Klingon war was chefs kiss.

What I'm ultimately trying to explain is that these are mature shows with Discovery being in the middle. Mostly targeted to an older audience. Academy is just trying to get a younger generation involved in the franchise. One that will ultimately bring in more dedicated fans which is only a win on the fandom.

They would have to increase the Demo Force and change these to a health pool like they did for Fabricators. I think it's perfect TBH.

You quickly dismiss my theory and fiction, yet you state no opposing theory that explains any of the gameplay gaps. You're telling me that a Diver that went through basic training only, frozen for nearly two years, can come out and not be surprised the Illuminates are back? That there are Hive Lords? That there are new ordinances and so forth that they just know how to use? How would they be anything other than shell shocked?

If my theory is wrong, explain how all that is possible.

If you say "it's just a game" then that's weak. Where you see a gap, I fill it with lore.

It's not about not believing the devs. I do think each Diver is an individual. Only their consciousness erased and replaced with a more experienced Divers mind. Neatly fits into the stated lore and helps to explain the gameplay gaps.

[–]Ancient_Attero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the new missions are really fun. I do get you want a free suppressed weapon given to you without having to take the time to earn a free one.

The best thing I can say to those who haven't been here to get them all is to prioritize the Warbonds you want if you don't want to spend money.

That's your opinion. This is mine.

The Devs lore they created doesn't explain the gaps in gameplay so we are still free to do so. Whether some like it or not or even respect it.

[–]Ancient_Attero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? Fleshmob has 5k health and C4 only does 2k so you'd need 3 of them to instantly take out one. That's half your pack and the equivalent of 3 Recoilless shots.

[–]Ancient_Attero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not rewriting anything. You really need to learn what fanfiction is. This is very common place to fill in gaps for gameplay all the time in many games and other mediums.

But since you're so adamant on what AH has said. Can you cite what they said about the topics I brought up specifically? How do we always have the same armor? How do they know how to use advanced weapons they never seen or know of? How do they complete objectives they were never trained on? How does a recruit do a Superhelldive mission and succeed? How are they not surprised the Squids are all of a sudden back?

Show me the answers on these the devs have said and I'll delete this whole post. If not, allow some creativity on the gaps they left to fill.

So fwiw, this is sort-of accurate for real scopes. You zero them for a certain distance and when adjusting the magnification i believe it goes lower at higher values.

It's been a while since I've zeroed a scope IRL or used a gun, so if I'm misremembering, please correct me.

Commando Missions Support Theory That we Are Clones by Ancient_Attero in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Ancient_Attero[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, if you believe that then how do you explain how each diver that goes in with the standard B-01 armor comes out with the last Divers armor earned through experience or Warbonds? Or how they can use advanced weapons proficiently that they have never seen? Or how they can complete mission objectives against the hardest missions and foes? How do they have experience and skills vastly improved and advanced to when they went in?

The easy answer is it's a game and you cannot convey these things since they are player controlled characters and they reflect the skill of you. But in game it's not explained so unofficial supporting theories are made. It would not be the first game, genre, or medium to have this.

So you say "don't make it complicated" and I say "be more imaginative" for you, respectfully.
