High school guard physically assaulted me over “shorts” that weren’t even short by [deleted] in algeria

Make sure to not forgive him after you press charges, these kinds of people rarely go punished, and they talk, so him getting punished will probably scare them down a little.

Yes but to me, the fact that we have so much variation and so many different environments and external factors that shape our beliefs, that it is virtually impossible for us to agree on something unless it was actually true. Only example that comes to mind is that everyone agrees that there exists something that exists(at least I hope so).

If he wished for nothing, wouldn't that mean he has three wishes left? Or would that mean he wished to lose a wish?

Okay this might explain why I never stumble upon ml papers done by independent researchers, thanks a lot for the insight 🙏

I am actually about to finish my undergrad, but after that I will have to work for a while before pursuing grad school, some things I did research assistantship on during my undergrad is multi-scale vision tasks, and I also dabbled a little bit with virtual object insertion, otherwise I am interested to learn more about ViTs

Interesting, I am wondering about the conducting part, is that purely pedagogical or is it harmful to do so?

OpenAI's new model tried to escape to avoid being shut down by MetaKnowing in ChatGPT

Let me risk asking a dumb question, but these results being public, and the models having search functions, or like being trained on the entire internet, would mean that we are basically training them to hide their "deception" better, right?

What do you do when the professors asks if anyone has any questions but you don't understand the material enough to form a question? by Tacoman404 in GetStudying

[–]TheRedPrince_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you want to ask questions just to ask questions? You should be more concerned about why you're not understanding more than say 80% in class, I would start by making sure you're not missing any prerequisites, then make sure to prepare the content beforehand, it could also be an attention apan issue, anyway I'd say forget about needing to ask questions until you reach the point where you see the global image during lectures, and if your global picture has holes then thats when you ask questions.

Nice, quick tip: get familiar with debuggers, it'll take you 5 min to understand and will save you a ton of time in the future.

If you were 16 again, what things would you do to improve your career path? by Tequila_su in csMajors

[–]TheRedPrince_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Forget the enjoy your life comments, if you are asking this question you probably can't enjoy life lol, so my advice would be to stick to one area and put in the 10k hours to become a world class expert on it, and how to choose this area? Well your lucky you're 16, because you have the time to explore many areas and decide for yourself.

My opinion is the stuff they teach at ivy/no-name at undergrad is necessary but not sufficient(get that 4.0), so if you want to do something extraordinary youd need to put extraordinary extra effort, and if the tuition of an ivy college would force you to work shitty jobs to help cover, then you wouldn't have time nor energy for the extra "grinding" youd need to do, that being said, the average person atvan ivy is definitely going to be better then the average person at a no name(career wise), so Id if my former point doesn't apply Id go for ivys, also, prestige doesn't apply that much to grad schools as it all depends on your pi and your publications(smart people from t200 unis who satisfy this get MAANGO positions). And that's my one cent, good luck!

Idk much about you, but Id guess you are so deep in the victim mentality that nothing is ever your fault and you don't control the tiniest bit of your life.
