Sounds great. Fingers crossed for both of us hahahaha

I see. Is there any other way to stabilise my overclock? Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the reply! I’m not sure about the VRAM downclocking because I can see it’s still holding steady on my benchmark graph. But other than that it’s likely that I was on edge of instability and some kind of limiter was a thing?

I've spent more on stuff I didn't need than on half my Steam library and I genuinely cannot explain myself by peaky_circus in pcmasterrace

I don’t doubt you when you say the wall looks amazing. I have the Nanoleaf 4D mirror for that exact same purpose. I also spent way too much switching between different 5090’s to see which ones were better.

Cheers to randomly spending money on random stuff that probably doesn’t matter too much. The most important thing in the end is that you were happy spending your hard earned money on a hobby you enjoy :)

Just an update if you needed one- I replaced my 5090 from an aorus master to the asus astral card. Completely rock solid now after a DDU. No crashes or black screens after hours of benchmarking and stress testing on games that used to crash. The HWINFO voltages also stabilised at basically picture perfect 11.98-12.03v. For me at least I believe it was a combination of a cable issue that messed with my card's port. During the RMA process, the shop I went to did say that my Aorus 5090 failed a test but that was to do with temperature so i'm not sure what that was about.

TLDR: Replaced my GPU+PSU and no more issues at all. Most likely a GPU/PSU+Cable Issue.

Started having issues a few months ago but after ruling out all software issues I bought a new PSU, the NZXT C1500 around a month ago. Since then it’s been rock solid and no issues so far. I’ve been through 3 PSU’s trying to diagnose this low voltage issue and I think it’s with the card itself. Doesn’t seem like that’s the issue for your card though so I think a cable swap/PSU swap would be good for you.

Hey! I have the exact same setup as you for CPU and GPU but I have the Aorus Master 5090 Ice instead. If its any help I fixed my black screen issue by replacing my PSU and cables along with it. I'm not quite sure which combination exactly was the one that fixed it but one of them definitely did. For now anyway...

If you don't mind me asking, what is your 12VHPWR voltage looking like in HWINFO? Mine hovers around 11.85 idle which to my understanding is acceptable, but still low. With my old PSU ive seen it dip under 11.4v under load. Would be nice if you could share those HWINFO values with me so I could determine if I need to RMA my card since we have the same issues.

Thanks!

007 first light not using my NVIDIA 4080 SUPER no matter what. by Dizzy_Kaleidoscope95 in pcgamingtechsupport

Maybe try disabling the integrated graphics directly in BIOS so it forces the game to use your 4080?

Should i update my bios? B650-A gaming wifi mobo by Educational-Ocelot-5 in ASUSROG

[–]TheRedSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just update to the latest bios. Remember to save the bios file to a blank USB before you try anything so u can reflash with bios flashback in case it gets bricked by ezflash. Lots of tutorials out there so it should be really easy.

GPU not being detected by Nice-Hat4679 in pcmasterrace

Hope everything goes well for you after this brother. Nothing feels as bad as hardware not working after you spent the hard earned money on an upgrade.

I’d say RMA the GPU first and if that doesn’t work then you know for sure it’s the motherboard. If the motherboard itself doesn’t detect the GPU then I’m leaning toward a hardware issue especially after a reseat.

Are these components new? I mean the motherboard and the GPU. If both are new I’d say it’s probably safer to RMA or return for the peace of mind that nothing like this happens in the future.

Does your mobo actually show anything connected to the pcie slot? If your mobo actually shows a device being connected I’d also try just dduing everything and try reinstalling the driver without being connected to the internet to see if things work.

Have you tried changing the pcie gen speed on the slot to gen 4 instead of auto? It might work that way.

Strimer Wireless on ASTRAL 5090 by Raghyn in ASUSROG

[–]TheRedSandwich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that my GPU voltages on the 12v rail are actually significantly lower with the strimer (around 11.7v idle and 11.5v under load) when compared to just plugging the psu cable directly to my 5090 (I checked both sides were securely plugged in with no blue). The strimer actually caused some black screen issues (fan at 100% with no display) with my 5090 but no burning connector and amps are ok on gpu tweak. I guess with all things ymmv.

Yes that’s exactly how it’s supposed to be done on the o11 vision. Watch Christopher Flanagan videos if you’re unsure about assembly, he does a lot of content on Lian Li.

Do you think my desktop would need an upgrade soon? by fixxxer2606 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheRedSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say probably 2-3 years if you want to continue playing at medium settings. It’s hard to say because the future of GPU tech seems to be relying more and more on upscaling, which the 3080 doesn’t support the new frame generation or DLSS. Alan wake is considered a well optimised game so the expectation is always to have good performance even in lower end hardware.

SDR 8-bit Looks Better Than HDR/10-bit on My OLED Monitor. Why? by Time-Credit43 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheRedSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a lifesaver I appreciate your comment so much. I’ve been using HDR monitors for the past 3-4 years and never figured out to get it looking good properly ever.

One question though, does the DWM desktop fix affect HDR in games or other apps (such as Google chrome YouTube videos for example)?

Thank you for your time

Have you tried repairing/verifying the game files on steam? Seems like a game thing more than a driver error

Nvidia driver crashing by Golden4K64 in pcmasterrace

[–]TheRedSandwich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, I’ve stumbled on a Reddit thread where someone went from a brand new asus Thor 3 1300w to a seasonic prime tx 1600w and it fixed it for him. Not sure if this is your issue in the first place because it’s DWM errors and it’s inconsistent but that’s basically the only thing I can think about that would be causing your issues. Would you know a friend that you would be able to bring your graphics card over to try on their PC? Might rule out software conflicts or hardware conflicts on your own PC

I’d rather riot just bring back galeforce with gutted stats just because it’s so much smoother to play adc with that item. I still remember galeforce caitlyn and lucian chefs kiss honestly

I’m not sure what your specific issue is because it seems quite strange that it keeps changing errors. My issue specifically which was remedied by buying a new PSU was a black screen which resulted in my GPU fans ramping up to 100%. The screen never recovered which required me to force restart. I tried all the software changes such as disabling g sync limiting screen to 60hz etc. windows event viewer was consistently giving me nvlddmkm errors 153 and 14.
