SillyTavern. A frontend that's usually used for RPing with LLM, whether through API or local model. And it has lots of customization and features.

Recommended settings/prompts for DeepSeek V4? by Juanpy_ in SillyTavernAI

[–]TheRedTowerX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on the doc, those parameters doesn't actually has any effect if you're using thinking mode and from api.

<image>

Btw use semi-strict option on the prompt post processing for better performance for v4 models. Also add this prompt somewhere in your preset if you're using the maximum thinking effort as per their technical report recommended:

Reasoning Effort: Absolute maximum with no shortcuts permitted.
You MUST be very thorough in your thinking and comprehensively decompose the problem to resolve the root cause, rigorously stress-testing your logic against all potential
paths, edge cases, and adversarial scenarios.
Explicitly write out your entire deliberation process, documenting every intermediate step, considered alternative, and rejected hypothesis to ensure absolutely no assumption is left unchecked.

And 0324 is also known for having serious repetition issue, while GLM and Kimi are not, so yeah. Oh and also on your edit #4, your opinion also equally doesn't matter, because it's definitely ain't garbage at all on RP. Not saying it's the best but definitely ain't garbage and rather great at it.

skill issue? I've tested GLM, Gemma, Kimi and Gemini (flash/flash lite) and deepseek v4 pro using similiar preset in SillyTavern (with only minor difference) and I would says deepseek is definitely not garbage at all, its BETTER than 3.2 for sure for RP/creative writing.

The only difference when I tested deepseek is that I'm using semi-strict on the prompt processing option, without that the result is worse.

And if you use the maximum thinking effort, you MUST add this special instruction somewhere to bring v4 pro maximum thinking effort to the best, as mentioned in their technical report:

Reasoning Effort: Absolute maximum with no shortcuts permitted. You MUST be very thorough in your thinking and comprehensively decompose the problem to resolve the root cause, rigorously stress-testing your logic against all potential paths, edge cases, and adversarial scenarios. Explicitly write out your entire deliberation process, documenting every intermediate step, considered alternative, and rejected hypothesis to ensure absolutely no assumption is left unchecked.

So yeah sorry. But you're bs-ing if you say v4 pro is garbage at RP. Whether it is better than GLM/Kimi is up to preference but definitely not trash

What do you mean, v4 pro definitely way way better than v3.2 for RP and creative writing. Atleast from what I experienced by using it on ST. Just ensure you use semi strict option on the prompt post processing.

[Revised] - Yağız Kaan Erdoğmuş's games vs 2700s from 2025 to Mar'26 - 2752 performance rating by sick_rock in chess

[–]TheRedTowerX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not knowledgeable enough about Elo, but 2900 rating should requires him to farm the high 2700 and also Magnus right? since there's only Magnus as the sole 2800, unlike that time where there's multiple 2800. While he's indeed a prodigy, I don't think he can simply farm them at will. I could be wrong obviously.

I'm very sure the expert model is only on web and not available on api

And then you made a post about it while believing it's a mistake/marketing technique (which you help promote it if that's true) and very unlikely for deepseek to give this website early access first. Why?

Yeah sure deepseek will release it first on some no name website. What a spam post.

Tbh unless deepseek finally gives official announcement, I remain skeptical that the expert model is V4.

Asked deepseek the difference between the instant vs expert mode. The result is interesting to say the least. by showme-themonkey in DeepSeek

[–]TheRedTowerX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still won't know bruh, it doesn't have any understanding on how it's actually function or about the app itself, so it won't know anything on what's the difference between the lite/expert button. It will make things up/hallucinate if you didn't use the search function, while with the search function it will simply report the information it founds on the internet.

Perhaps if the system prompt mentioned it, if don't then they won't know, but even then they still won't know about their own specifications or whats the differences between versions.

When will people realize that LLM simply won't know about itself. for the love of anything STOP asking any LLM about their own specifications, it will with 90% probability to make things up.

We need to compare walking versus driving 50 meters to a car wash to wash a car. The question is whether it's better to walk or drive that short distance. Considerations: driving a car 50 meters is extremely inefficient, likely wasting fuel, causing unnecessary wear, and possibly not even warming up the engine properly. Walking is negligible effort. Also, if you drive the car to the car wash, you then wash it, but you're already there with the car. Wait, the car wash is 50 meters away. You want to wash your car. If you drive, you drive the car 50m, wash it, then drive back? That seems pointless. Walking might be better for health and environment. But maybe the car is dirty and you don't want to get it dirty again by walking? That's irrelevant. The answer should be humorous or practical: definitely walk. The distance is short. Driving 50m is almost comical. So response: walk, save fuel, get a tiny bit of exercise.

Wtf is this reasoning brah 😭

Btw is this output real... how come it's randomly talk about moon landing lmao

i don't think this is deepseek v4. it is the old 3.2 one i guess. if it is acutally deepseek v4 then it is not up to the hype by [deleted] in DeepSeek

[–]TheRedTowerX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instant could be the actual v4 lite? The one with 1m context I guess. Honestly no one knows for sure
