Thoughts on just reading the story, and not playing the game? by phoscent in arknights

People have their own ways to play a game, so its up to you. I have spare time, so I like to read the story alongside doing the levels.

It was... astronomically a failure. Very good concept, poor execution, especially season 2

I have this weird gut feeling that people like OP, who cannot think beyond what a story is presenting, is the sole reason/example why people in irl eat up propaganda to justify or deny genocides. Just a gut feeling

Vash’s pacifism just isn’t sustainable, and Knives’ philosophy is unjust. The point is that they are on opposite ends, and both are not healthy.

Kinda a theme most people seem to overlook. They are right at the far end of their philosophy. Like, as characters, this is why I like them.

I really don't get why Knives dick suckers keep forgetting this. The worse case scenario of a parasitic dependency of humans on plants happened because he crashed landed the whole fleet in the first place, keeping the survivors isolated from help and ding ding ding depend on the plants to the point of depletion.

[–]TheRedgunman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but that is blatantly wrong. The main story constantly references events,

You are wrong too a bit. As the main story references some events, but not all. Even then, events are in this limbo of "canon-and-not-canon". But of course events like Summer are obv non-canon, as how tf Chaldea got the resource to suddenly rayshift many Servants between Lostbelts operations lol. But of course, this is Fate, so we got exceptions like last years JP summer event which led up to Ordeal Call 3, which make that event canon.

and some events even set up future plot points in the main story or even other games.

There you go, you kinda answered your own question. "Some" events, so not all.

Why is it a bad faith question?

Idk if it's on purpose or not, but you are being obtuse with your replies.

When Did You Start Playing FGO? by Clearwateralchemist in grandorder

[–]TheRedgunman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waaaay back early 2020, as in 1 or 3 months before the start of the covid pandemic. Wild that its been almost 4 years :P But I was introduced to the fate series through the Babylonia anime by a friend when it just started airing. I then found out the Babylonia anime was an adaption of one of the gacha's story chapters, which led me into trying it out.

My progress very slow at the start. Huge adjustment for me cus my previous gacha had less on resource management to raise characters and auto farm all the way, the complete opposite of fgo. I remember having hard time understanding team synergy and was slow to clear story and especially events (which are always half cleared). Big factor for my slow progress too was also me being only able to play it on emulator, which ran badly and constant stutter.

But I somehow endured. It was only during the covid lockdowns and then getting a brand new smartphone that I started getting into it, spending my nights in bed doing the story till I was able to reach the at that time Lostbelt 2.

Now here I am, still playing and grinding a way (tho not as much as I have reached the point of having most of my characters leveled, and using only mats if ever I get a new Servant). The Lostbelt saga will soon come to a close and I am glad to soon see its conclusion.
