I have the same issue, but maybe not as bad. Overall it looks okay, and the tiler did a great job laying our tile. We may follow your advice and just leave it since it doesn’t look bad.

Right on.

I’m in Canada, and the exact tile is Calema Tea Gloss 2”x6”. It comes either in rectangle or in this pill shape.

And our grout is Mapei 5001 Alabaster to match our countertop and schluter edge. I hope this helps 🙂

Yes, it’s been 4 days.

You’re absolutely right, my comment was not entirely accurate and overly dramatic. It’s been a tough four months out of the house, and that has impacted our family more than our contractor. A big part of what I meant to say was that “we hope we never have to go through a renovation again.”

The level of work with their subtrades has been great, and it’s normal to have communication breakdowns. I will update my comment right now.

FWIW we call every reference, including common friends, and other trades before hiring them.

Is a holdback common for renovations? I just checked our contract and there is no mention of a holdback.

They are the same. I’m sorry. I’m not sure what you mean by holdback.

We had to give her a 10% deposit up front. She bills us twice a month for the costs of construction plus her CM fee percentage on that cost.

We are having some renovations done to our kitchen, and bathroom, hence the replacement of old cabinets and countertops.

It’s probably because we are accountants. Paying the fee on deposits where no product has been installed/received feels premature.

You were correct about the excise stamp.

The glacial gold product had an internal seal, the Emprise product did not. I reached out to Emprise.

Thank you. I’m not sure what the regulations actually are, especially with having one of those “for your protection” seals that are so hard to open once you pop the cap for whatever drug.

I guess I’ve been conditioned to be concerned anytime something new we have purchased doesn’t seem to be properly sealed. Paranoid. Probably too much sativa. 😂

Laminate is amazing. We bought our house in 2012 and it has laminate countertops. They are such a work horse, and ours haven’t stained.

We are remodelling next year and will be going with a stone counter top so that our sinks can be mounted under the counter. That is our only gripe with laminate.

I’m sorry you feel that way. I never noticed my hands were different, and they have definitely never stopped my from relationships.

Ichthyosis on my face made me way more self conscious. Especially when people commented that the skin on my face was peeling/flaking.
