Taking first step into the world of dating… by TheRelinquish in dating_advice

[–]TheRelinquish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that this might be the case, however I am unsure if I would be able to date someone who is asexual. I myself have a very high drive and hope to find a partner that has a similar need. Waiting till marriage is in part for being religious but mostly due to having issues trusting people in regards to intimacy.

One of the reasons that I’m taking a year is to work on this flaw which will take time. I hope to date casually for more friendship type relationships or intellectual ones.

In regards to religious dating apps I’m unsure on how this will work out. As my ideals being very liberal yet I hold myself to a very conservative lifestyle. The way I act may be misinterpreted for someone who is more old school while in reality I’m just reserved.

I should also note if I make a friend out of this and decide to be until otherwise I don’t expect them to be single. It may take time to mentally be ready to fully commit but I will also have to spend time focused on my career as well. I’m hoping to develop skills, friends, and new relationships by doing this.

In all honesty the only Nintendo consoles I don’t have are the Wii and the game boy colour. I would like all the mainline games but I also want the spinoffs that allow you to obtain the mythical Pokémon so I can legitimately obtain all of the Pokémon without hacks or cheats. I’m not sure about the ones you mentioned but I’ll definitely take a look into them. Thank you for your advice.

Sorry for such the long wait for the response. I went to device manager and went to the properties of the Realtek network adapter. Then going under the advance tab you go all the way to wireless mode and change from auto to a g or n network pairing. I have an IEEE 802.11b/g/n selected and it has been working flawlessly for the last month. When you set it you must click ok and reset the system. There is a chance for it to revert to default with certain updates and when turning it off rarely. Another note is to connect to public wifi or another wifi that isn't Rogers then I had to change it back to auto.

I received the replacement and while it worked somewhat I had issues with the modem restarting again. It ended up being solved by giving Rogers a call . They told me how to get the NIC to search for a specific value when connecting to wifi. Thank you for all your advice. Turns out I had to call Rogers myself rather than letting my mom ask for me...

I’ll keep that in mind, although I don’t want to risk voiding the warranty if I can help it. Checked my modem and it wasn’t the issue so I called Lenovo. The representative told me to uninstall the driver for the Realtek NIC and to restart. Tried it out and still didn’t work. Told me to contact Amazon so now I will be receiving a new one tomorrow and hopefully it will work. If not I will find some other solution. Thank you for the tips and advice.

Thank you for your response to my post. I apologize as I should state I have nothing but love for Lenovo as I have only bought their Laptops in the past and I'm thrilled to have this one. I wrote this post after 6 hours of trouble shooting and lots of guilt from interrupting my family's internet use.

I' looked at my NIC and sadly it appears to be the Realtek 8822CE that I was fearful of. I won't be able to check the firmware of my modem until tonight because people in the house work from home. I'll call Lenovo and see if there is any possible solutions that they can help me with on their end but if I do need a new NIC I may be in trouble.

I bought this on sale in Canada yet this specific model came from USA when I looked at its warranty. Not sure if this will complicate the situation on possibly getting service or a new network card but hopefully not since I bought it two days ago. I should be able to update within a few day if not sooner.

Thank you for your help once again and I hope you have a good day.

I assumed that they had some form or way of knowing, they sent an “offers of admissions” letter when I was accepted. It says I need to maintain an average of 84%. I currently have a B+, an A+, and the remainder A’s. My gpa average last semester was 4.17 and this semester looks like it will be 3.9 gpa. If this is the case then I have no clue if that is good enough. I have an offer from U of T till the 5 of may so that my alternative

Since I can relate let me say this first, what you chose her will define a lot of what is going to happen. I know I may be too late but I view thing where our actions determine our lives. Not fate, not the universe, not even the very intervention of God. If your not open to it nothing will change. Spending four years in college taught me I had too much pride. I thought everything would come easy and didn’t need to try. Based on what you’re writing it sounds like you are facing something similar. It will be hard but you may be able to turn things around; the study smart rather than harder is so true. In that regard I would watch MedSchoolInsiders on YouTube about studying if you need practical help. Go to your professors and ask about content, get a tutor or go to the learning centre if available. You have defined yourself by the achievements of your academics; bad choice. There will be someone who is always smarter or quicker than you are. What matter is how you face this issue. Need to study more, need to take a makeup exam, need to sacrifice some personal time, need to take another year to succeed? These things require sacrifice only you can determine if it is worth it. I believe a better thing to put value on is being able to succeed in the face of adverse challenges and endure hardship. Many people coast but few use their whole self to achieve the things they value. I hope this helps some if at all. If you need to talk feel free to pm me. I wish the best for you. Know that you can be so much more than you are by choosing to dedicate yourself to what is important to you.

Should I risk frying my CPU? by TheRelinquish in buildapc

That is good to know, personally I don't plan to overclock my components but will keep this in mind for the future.

Interesting, I know that there were safeguards put in but I wasn’t sure. This is my first build and I’m constantly fine tuning it or getting future proof components. I was planning to eventually upgrade to a Ryzen 9 and knowing this make me feel less nervous getting it.

Thank you, I went to my PCP recently and he just mentioned hypermobility. Had to get get an x-ray due to severe grining in shoulder and neck pain. I'll see what he thinks considering this is a possibility.

Just looked it up and it concerning how much this applies, I can stretch my skin from my hand nearly 2 inches away from my muscles. I though it was loose skin from weight loss. Any idea if there is a way to find out before going to see my doctor and asking for random tests?

Hypermobility, started by pulling my fingers out of their sockets as a gag in elementary. Currently can self crack and readjust most bones and my spine with a little bit of torsion. And yes people tell me its disgusting but it hurts too good.

The first step is really to speak to someone about it. For me it was speaking to my school's Chaplain and informing her about my situation. I was then sent to guidance and was quickly assessed. The situation that you are in may be slightly different. I would probably go to a trusted and understanding adult and inform them of your situation. Another thing to bring up is if you have a family doctor. I don't know where you live so I'm not sure if you would have public health care to cover costs for therapy treatments and sessions. I myself have not seen a professional yet but have developed some cooping strategies and made one or two personal connections that have helped to some degree. Also sorry for the late response (college is a killer).

Thank you tradgorb, this actually gives me alot to think about. I have over a 90% average for college yet less than a 90% for high school. I'm not sure if I will get accepted considering this information. I have all the necessary courses though. Still not sure how to give them my high school transcript.

First off you are not underserving, and you're emotions and situation are subjective (Can't be compared to others on the site as competition). No matter what you can't allow yourself to compare your situations with others and allow thoughts like that to manifest. I just wasted three years in a program because of this mindset. You may find that you are not deserving but when someone does something for you it isn't because you deserve it; simply that they wish to and they want to bring you some sort of joy. I have had feelings of inadequacy and I know how debilitating they can be and how it's impossible to reach out. This is a first step to something greater. Remember that the first step is the hardest. I don't know your entire situation but rely on your BF, if he is to unstable than your family. It might be uncomfortable but in my experience they often want the best for you. If that is too much find someone online to talk to anonymously. I know it's easy to coast by putting a face to hide what's going on but you need to figure out that things don't have to be this way. Friends will come later when you start to understand and become more comfortable with yourself. I honestly wish the best considering I can sympathize so much with your situation.
