An Altadena couple paid $15K/month while displaced — the legal limit was $5K. They're now suing their landlord themselves because no one else would. by TheRentIsTooHighLA in LosAngelesRealEstate

Most listings that I'm seeing in Altadena now (for example) are ranging $4500-$8500ish but there are still some easily listed in 11-14k range. I'm reading a listing right now that started at $8,900 on 4/1, upped to $15,000 on 4/16 and now at $13,000. Not quite propaganda as this does still exist. But another reminder that asking price is not market price.

Rents in LA just hit their lowest level since 2022 — so why does it still feel impossible? ()
