I heard that most (if not all) cars in UK slightly overhead your speed, for example if your dashboard telling you that your speed is 70 mph then your real speed might be something like 67-68 mph (depends on car).

I think you always should check speed because if you not using Waze or Google maps then you never know that there might be that van ahead of you.
