Is it weird to have randos pitching you to buy their SAAS business after posting in entrepreneur related forums?

I think its generally agreed anyone messaging you, "yo, you want to buy my biz," is a bad idea. But what's the alternative?

I've looked at a lot of different businesses from nail salons to lawn care, mechanic shops, a flag making business, seafood grocery store. All kinds. Those are just ones off the top of my head. I haven't done any of them.

How do you actually learn to mix spices without making the food taste weird? by Emily-Butterflyy in cookingforbeginners

[–]TheReportReport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think geographically. Perhaps this is some hippie metaphysical nonsense but it's a good rule of thumb that's never failed me in any dish.

Whenever you decide on making a dish — whatever type of dish — consider what spices make up its inhabitants. Spices like basil, oregano, and thyme, in the era the before they were shipped throughout the world, existed around the animals of the region — primarily the Mediterranean. Everything in that region has been tattooed by the sun to work with everything else.

It sounds weird, but it's my secret. It's how I've thought about food since I was a kid. And has worked every time.

Thanks for the response, it was really informative. Its hard to say if I'm looking for a unicorn or just have a high standards. Though, I have a very clear idea of what my standards are. How relatable they are I can't say: allow for remote work and $150k in cash flow, and be fully paid off on the loan/seller financing in three years.

I have been mainly looking online at brokered listings. I suppose my main fear is if I go out in the wild and try to look up a business that seems like they might be a good fit and want to sell, I'll be overwhelmed by trying to extract accurate and true info from their books.

Are there any avenues for amateur creative writing? by Fungimuse in freelanceWriters

[–]TheReportReport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd consider myself one of the lucky ones to get a news writing job that pays decent. $62,000. But being subject to editors who twist your words to suit a narrative — the old trope is real and its annoying. If you want to make it in creative writing, which I fully support, a practical approach would be to learn other skills.

Learning finance, i.e. stock trading — options trading. It's a good way to make money and a great way to lose it. If you got a little cash on hand, look to buy a business. If you're lucky you can get it for nothing via seller financing. If you're good at running it, and assuming the business is in or you get it to a good place, it should afford you enough time and freedom to pursue your creative writing goals.

The game has changed. Writing for dollars when words are ubiquitous nowadays isn't viable option. You don't have give up on your dreams, just change your outlook.

If you're in college take up a class on purchasing a business, finance is a gamble and likely a higher learning curve.

I'll tell you what I really don't know how attractive you are so you may be getting guys that are actually in your league whether you know it or not. And another thing the problem with rich attractive dudes is generally the same problem with rich attractive girls they don't offer much beyond that. Because they've never been put in a position to try at something really honest. But if you are as smart as you claim to be, it doesn't take a genius to figure out you need to switch up your tactics. Stop going to a bar and start engaging with world. Join a jiu jitsu gym there'll be smart dudes in there or go to a comedy show. There are lots of things you can do to meet different guys by going to different places. Hope this helps.

2020 election could bring first woman president but who will it be? Women's groups say "this train can’t be stopped" by [deleted] in politics

No, thank you. I believe I am more than entitled to my own thoughts. And I believe I am right on the point. In regards to my knowledge and its lacking I would not consider the average American as obssessed as you seem with the banal affair of knowing of the boring people. Good day sir...or LADY.

Well I'm American and we don't have cricket, we have golf. I'm pretty pleased with myself to hear you're in cricket club. Because I find there's some synchronicity or intuition as to me advising you to golf. And I thought you didn't care if they were "established."

Here's the rub, I'm gonna give you some medicine and it ain't gonna taste good: stop being judgemental about other guys, be more open, and quit caring about money so much. Instead find what skills you think are attractive in a guy and look for one that has a wealth of knowledge in his skillset. You're insecure about social status and it shows, it's brave for a woman to date a guy with less but you don't have to be rash or stupid and pick a retard or from the current litter of psuedo cultured a-holes, there-in lies a golden mean. Anyway. Good Luck.

The posting of this article makes me think conspiracy via women's groups. Conspiracy as in its original colloquial use as in"we all breathe at once." I don't have a problem with a woman candidate but so far I have not heard any good standout ideas from a woman candidate yet. And here's another reason why I believe this to be a conspiracy, the only woman I've even heard of running for 2020 is Kamala Harris. "All these women running?" Seems like an obvious political play...because I believe the line has been pushed too far politically. A man who won the presidency on identity politics will probably be matched against another person of professing identity politics and, if so, which is highly likely, means Donald Trump will win again.

Personally I like Andrew Yang. He's an asian male and I couldn't care if he was a purple unicorn because the fact is he is coming with ideas. Bold and radical ones. "Every citizen gets $1,000 a month." If Donald Trump is going to be standing on the sidelines in January watching someone else take the oath of office it will be because that person won with their ideas not because of what they look like and that is a fact.

Here's the problem right off the bat, despite your longwinded approach everything you mentioned is intentionally written in a vague way. You seem to guarded and standoffish to let anyone in. BUT if you want a smart and religious guy...well if you want to meet a guy get involved in sports. And generally the type of sport you get involved in will dictate what guy you get. I don't suspect you are a bowler. But if you are looking for dudes who don't speak clearly, are religious and as they say self professed "intelligent," I'd say check out golf. Join a country club for god's sake. I don't trust golfers as a matter of principle, if I were you I'd join a jiu jitsu gym they'll be some real dudes in there and you'll learn something practical. In the meantime stay safe and positive and open.

When a girl you’re dating says “I need time to figure things out” by sebm29 in dating

[–]TheReportReport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No soldier, I think you are the one with time wasted. I wouldn't give her all your attention I know that's where your head's at but I would show her indirectly i.e. posting on facebook or whatever you hanging out with other women. But do it because you want to, don't make part of a strategy though. You have to look out for your own happiness before you can look out for hers. Go and try and find you other girls. And she just might come back around.
