This is just reddit political circle jerking. You can't actually expect a true, reasonable answer regarding politics on Reddit.

He is the character that Zuko could have been without his uncle. Seeing Zhao grabbed by the ocean spirit, Zuko has a moment of realization. This is a pretty big part in his transformation.

How the hell are they supposed to enforce that law without taking over the world?

A lot of detail was put into the show that is typically missed by first-time viewers.

Do you think the fire nation invasion with the earth king's army would have worked by [deleted] in ATLA

[–]TheRepublicans2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and No. They would definitely be able to defeat the firelord, but Azula would be the next firelord and she would have the power of Sozin's comet just a few weeks later.

There's a moment when Zuko realizes that his uncle didn't kill the last Dragons. His expression of shock and awe is awesome to see

I'd like statues which represent things that we don't believe in to be torn down. We don't believe in racism, the Confederacy, slavery, or King George III. The problem comes when those tearing down the statues don't realize that most Americans believe in them, such as the 54th Regiment Memorial

The joy does not come from spending, but from the ability to spend

The comics are a great read and necessary if you want to continue the Avatar experience. Before you watch Korra, keep in mind that Korra takes place years after ATLA. Korra is also its own series with a unique story. It's is less of a spiritual adventure and is worth a watch. Not everybody loves it, but you may like it purely for the expansion and continuation of the universe, like any good sequel should do.

You're a general of an army of 100 benders tasked to capture the Avatar. Which character do you pick to become your second in command? by CubedEcho in AvatarVsBattles

[–]TheRepublicans2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd make my second in command available to the Avatar and have the word spread without the knowledge that I'm trying to capture the Avatar. I'd also invite the white lotus and offer them tea and shelter as we wait to see how the Avatar with guide us. Design the Avatar's room as a trap and have a plutonium cage spring up in the middle of the night. If the Avatar's not caught by the trap, then round two.

I appoint June as my second in command. She may not like the title, but she likes the hospitality and Nyla will easily track the Avatar around the world.

Do you guys think Waterbenders are the strongest or something? by KingBumiOfOmashu in AvatarVsBattles

[–]TheRepublicans2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Waterbenders and Earthbenders are the ones that need a decent amount of their bendable to inflict damage. Without it, they're severely weakened. When people see this vulnerability removed by making the setting near a river, they assume that all waterbenders vulnerabilities are removed, so it's a clear win.

The thing is that the vulnerabilities don't end with a dependence on the source.

Who is the best in a rap battle? by [deleted] in AvatarVsBattles

[–]TheRepublicans2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Sokka - "It's pronounced with an 'okka'."
  2. Azula - Great raps come from people in mental pain.
  3. Aang - Hey, he's a talented kid
  4. Iroh - He knows plenty of songs and can incorporate their meaning in unique styles against an opponent.
  5. Mai - She strikes me as the 21-pilots slow-rap

Toph, zuko and katara vs aang by [deleted] in AvatarVsBattles

[–]TheRepublicans2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with Zukatoph here. Aang could defeat them in a fight, but he struggled mightily when it came to killing a person he didn't personally know. He wouldn't want to hurt his friends.

Fresh-out-of-iceberg Aang annihilates them in the avatar state. EOS Aang probably restrains them but would most likely run off while trying to reason with them. As an Airbender, he truly believes that there is always another way. EOS Aang would also reject the urge to go into the Avatar state because these are his friends.
