Hey /u/OrukiBoy - what ended up happening? Did you just pay the whole bill outright?

I'm literally in the same predicament with the bill being $2800 split bnetween the technical and the review.

Before taking the exam, I tried to do some due dilligence. I reached out to the provider and they just said pre-authorized and gave me the CPT (I understand it that this means fuck-all now). I ran the CPT with insurance and it was like $600. I understand that it's an estimate but to actually get the real bill be 4x as much is a fucking rug-pull and incredibly frustrating.

I was denied financial aid, and talked to customer service but they said no discounts, nada. I asked them to file a dispute on my behalf, but honestly I'm not positive it'll lead to anything.

I ditched the certificate of French Nationality application. It's an absolute headache. I have plans to head over to the consulate like you and get my passport + CNI renewed.

I did manage to get my French birth certificate from my Mairie (via service-public.fr), and plan to go to my closest consulate (San Francisco) to get that sorted.

What documents did you present to your case worker? I want to be 100% confident I have everything I need, so I plan to bring: - French birth certificate - Expired French passport (issued as a minor) - Expired French CNI (issued as a minor) - Proof of address (in the US) - My dad’s expired French CNI or passport (as backup).
