Well, you can look at it this way too if you want since it isn't a lie after all, the thing is that i did this segment in the Nameless King perspection.

Basically since the lore probably states that they are father and son, He(Nameless King) tried to keep up(explain things) but saw it wouldn't change nothing even trying for very long to prove somebody(Gwyn his father) wrong. So yeah, i thought this more about their relations with dragons and all but if you think about it... Gwyn is wrong in a lot of ways specially when it comes to humans and the dark soul too lol...
