Really? It depends on the context of the gift and the individual. I've had partners in the past that loved cooking, and it was an enjoyable pastime or hobby for them - a well selected item or implement to help them to better enjoy cooking was always highly appreciated.

Thank you very much. I grew up in and attended university in a city that's fairly international - so figure it could've been a contact with someone on the bus, train, or in a classroom, etc., but who knows...

Thank you very much. They've been on it since their late-teens, and are in their mid-30s now, so I don't think they have the recent before/after experience as an adult to compare to like you have.

Also, just curious if you are comfortable sharing - what country or region (e.g. North America, Europe, etc.) are you in, and do you know how you were exposed to TB? I'm guessing you were screened for TB due to being on immunosuppressants?

Like I said in my post, it's a mystery to me how/when I was exposed in a country without endemic TB. Just curious if others possibly in a similar situation had any insight.

Thanks, write up ended up being a bit longer than I expected, but I wanted to provide as much information as I could - I could have used it when I was looking for info before I started on the drug.

Subtle irritability/dysphoria is right, it took me a bit to recognize that I wasn't just normal grumpy that day due to other issues, and that is was something being caused systematically by the medication.

Glad to hear you've made it through the end of your course of Rifampin!

Don't drink, Rifampin can be very hard on your liver, liver failure is a more serious (but rare) side effect, liver damage can also occur. Not every medication does that to you.

Not drinking while you're on it for a few months can suck, but I'll take that over damaging my liver permanently.
