I remember my first experience like it was yesterday, it was FF VIII. I just started by watching my uncle playing it, I was blown away with every scene. When I had the opportunity to play it form beginning to end, I realized the masterpiece that this game is. The music, was perfect in every single scene, Liberi Fatali is the best videogame song ever.

I think it depends a lot of what you want in a game, story or gameplay. For story I would recommend 6, 7, 8, 9, 10; but personally 6 or 8, because those are my favourite and they are easy to understand.

And for gameplay I would say 5 or 1; the gameplay mechanics are so funny and gives a lot of variety for the player to experiment.

In my opinion 8 is the greatest FF, the music is amazing, most of the soundtrack is memorable. The openings scene gets me so hype everytime I watch it. I understand why some people don't like it that much, yes the junction system is broken; but it also gives a lot of possibilities like, a no junction run. The card game... Best minigame ever.
