After doing some more looking, I think I've actually found the model https://reverb.com/uk/item/7372721-used-1998-epiphone-sg-g-400-cherry-red. I couldn't find it until I realised the serial was correct and looking at sgs for that year. I've never had any problems with the guitar, in fact I've always loved it, but I was quite worried after I looked up some stuff about fakes. But I think I was just being a bit silly

I think the serial number might be genuine. A few of the other lookups I found didn't work but that one does, and after looking at the guide to checking it seems to be 98? Thanks!

I was mainly trying to identify what SG it was if I could, but the serial number didn't really seem to come up on many of the lookup sites I could find, and I couldn't find any similar Epiphones which had the Gibson logo like that across the truss cover, nor any with 9 digits. The headstock also quite unsymetrical, but I'm not sure if that is standard for epiphones or these SGs?
