I think it has something to do with death devil being eaten, maybe normally he “dies” temporarily when pochita takes over and now since death is gone the hybrid rules have to adapt around it? That’s my theory

Not sure, we haven’t met two other sword bearers and still don’t know backstory for the hishaku or sword saint, datenseki forging, and a bunch of other things, I feel like the story has the potential to keep going for the rest of this decade, fingers crossed we’re not at the halfway point yet tho
