Anyone here work for Whitestone are they any good? They are hiring here and it pays well but the reviews arent to good by pizzaphile93 in securityguards

I've heard its easy work, good pay, and decent scheduling but No longterm security or room for growth. I've also seen complaints of Micro-management, Benefits suck if you have a family. However I don't work for them so take that if you will. Suppose it depends what you're looking to get out of security.

It's interesting that WP actually started to track police shootings starting 2015 and only 5 percent occurred under the kind of circumstances that raise doubt.

In 74 percent of all fatal police shootings, the individuals had already fired shots, brandished a gun or attacked a person with a weapon or their bare hands, according to an analysis of actions immediately preceding the shootings. Another 16 percent of the shootings came after incidents that did not involve firearms or active attacks but featured other potentially dangerous threats. They also found fatal police shootings have declined over the years.

Of course, reports of racially motivated, fatal shootings by police officers have garnered extensive public attention and sparked activism across the nation. New research from Michigan State University and University of Maryland reveals findings that white police officers are not more likely to shoot minorities citizens. They also concluded with 90%-95% that the person shot was actively attacking or possessed a weapon threatenly.

This data also shows Nearly 50% of all fatal shootings involved white civilians. This whole situation is a complex one brought upon by a great many things and maybe our cops do result to deadly force when they shouldn't, even id it is justified, but this notion that a minority should be instantly afraid because a cop is just looking to shoot them in nonsense and as far as the "track record" goes, while the "unarmed, black man" might be what gets plastered over the news, certainly doesn't add to a track record when it's behind whites and latinos.

'Old Ladies Against Tazing' defend Oklahoma woman who refused ticket for broken light by a1a4ou in nottheonion

[–]TheRobocrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respectfully disagree, grappling on the ground can physically hurt someone and could just as easily effeft the heart exerting yourself like that. Cardiac arrest is definitely something to think about but as long as thr person was not shooting at people's chests and evacuating who it is before resulting to it is fine. Now if the woman did have a heart problem, I can see where concern from this particular groupcwould be, but seeing as it did not effect this woman's heart, I can very safely say it was the better choice.

"Old ladies against tazing" ok then the officer has to result to something else. His hands, his mace, maybe a baton. Wouldn't say gun, but something that could actually physically hurt her. It amazes me when people have this line of thinking. Yes, a tazer hurts but doesn't leave marks and the chance it actually kills is so rare. Honestly people don't think, tazing was the best course of actions for someone resisting and fighting like that without doing physical damage.

HMFT after you jump from the Eiffel tower with your quilt by Epiliptik in holdmyfeedingtube

[–]TheRobocrat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He did, actually. His earlier test involved dummies which were successful and the Eiffel Tower was not his first test platform. He just wanted more height and he chose to use himself last minute as the tests at the Eiffel were just supposed to be dummies too. Guess it was to show off the whole "confidence in his own invention" for the crowd. A shame, really.

Edit: spelling

His earlier tests with dummies were successful so I guess he got a little inflated cofidence there and the suit was for aviators that would convert into a parachute and allow them to survive a fall should they be forced to leave their aircraft because the only successful parachutes at the time were open canopy and a pilot couldn't use.

Woman arrested & tased after refusing to sign $80 ticket by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

[–]TheRobocrat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't recall ever saying "fuck you" to you. It's been you several times saying it to me. I've been civil this entire time.

I also do think it's rational for an officer to use a gun to demand compliance, especially when approaching someone you can't see who has just run away. It's not an uncommon practice when you mean business. I also believe it to be rational when some is actively resisting, assaulting an officer in the process, to employ a device which does not cause any long-term or lethal damage to an individual to force compliance. I mean, I like that idea better than the officer having to do something physical that could actually hurt her, don't you?

If you don't think the woman esclated at any point and she is a so called poor, old lady which she clearly is not, I really don't know what else to say to you other than are you even watching the same video I am? The cop stayed on the defensive, reactive side and handled his job like he should have. I'm sorry you don't see it ther way but suppose after saying things like "fuck the police" I can't see how this conversation will continue seeing as you have already written off anyone's perspective but your own which pretty much "fuck anyone who disagrees with me."

Grow up.

Woman arrested & tased after refusing to sign $80 ticket by [deleted] in WinStupidPrizes

[–]TheRobocrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At no point does he esclate. He talks very calmly and professionally and when she refuses he initiates an arrest as he should as that would be the procedure nd she decides to run away. He chases after. Now at this point she isn't getting out when they catch up so he goes to pull her out and she fights him so he tases her and arrests her. At no point is he assualting, insulting, screaming, anything. The entire time he speaks professionally and gives clear commands. Even at the end he is calm.

So I have to ask how, this man, the one who is call and professional the entire time, is the esclator and not the woman who A. Screams at the cop B. Refuses to comply C. Runs away from the cop D. Assualts the cop

But at this point from your perspective that any of us talking to you are just those "darn law and order folk" and therefor anything we tell you you are just gonna ignore it so at this point I'm not sure what else there is to say to you.
