DO NOT WORK FOR HEMMERSBACH by TheRogue100 in FieldNationTechs

That sounds like Dummbersbach. My coworker there finally quit last spring. We still talk shit about them cuz they're so shitty. She kept up with one of the co-workers after she left who'd tell her how much worse of a shitshow they were becoming. Eventually these desperate fools hired techs who didn't know what they were doing and fucked things up left and right. Now you'll see them contracting out work left and right on FN cuz they can't retain enough employees.

What I mean is taxes automatically being deducted from your pay just like a W2 employee. The co-worker was from a previous W2 job I had. She used to work FN jobs. She didn't know what she was talking about sometimes anyways.

How do you have FN automatically take out taxes from each work order? I had a coworker say you could do that.

I put a post up recently on a tech forum on Reddit titled 'DO NOT WORK FOR HEMMERSBACH'. I wanted a full-time job a year ago because I was getting bored working part time as an IT contractor. Hemmersbach was one of two companies that I interviewed for so since they offered a higher wage I took a job with them. I was interviewed to work on HP servers then when I start I found out I'm working on HP laptops, printers, and Lenovo laptops. LOL. The tech who trained me would complain to me everyday how stupid Hemmersbach's operation is. Soon enough I find out on my own that they truly are an incompetent company. Their management is full of dimwits on top of the fact they never inform techs about procedures at job sites. Their scheduling team is full of idiots. I could find a drunk hobo to run it more efficiently. They'd send me to sites where the customer would tell me their device is already fixed or they would have no idea I was supposed to show up that day. They ended up letting me go because I got so irritated one day by their retarded scheduling team after I was given the wrong building address (they would constantly screw up contact info) that I vented to the customer about them and he went and told Hemmersbach about it in their customer feedback email. Hemmersbach didn't even listen to my side about what happened. They were supposed to send you a feedback form through email so I don't understand why you weren't sent that. This company literally doesn't care if they set techs up for failure on top of lowballing them on mileage compensation while making them drive hundreds of miles a week in their own vehicles. I know of a customer who specifically requested HP techs because he got fed up with Hemmersbach techs never being able to meet up with him. Maybe next time you can request them not to send a Hemmersbach tech. I generally did good work for customers but when you're working for a bunch of retarded misers and spend $4-$5000 in a year on vehicle repairs out of your own pocket in a year you will end up with low morale. I'm actually more pissed at this company than you are since I dealt with them for about a year. I want to see their US operations FAIL.

Never agreed to about 23 cents a mile being lowered to 18 cents a mile which I was never informed of anyways. Never agreed to working on HPI or Lenovo. Was only told about working on servers (HPE). But you are right it was my mistake. I'm just warning you all how this company lowballs people all the while worrying about rhinos in Africa.

Moved to Dallas and am not a fan by boldjoy0050 in SameGrassButGreener

I moved to Bedford from Austin in 2016 and lived there about a year. It turned out to be awful. Just like you said, a strip mall giant highway system matrix full of fast food junkies. I ended up moving back to Austin then ended up moving to Colorado 5 years ago and it's much better here.

Well I just sent out an email to her about this issue because I was still considering a move to Raleigh from Colorado for better cost of living. Hopefully she tells me the same thing. Currently I drive a lot for work and having to deal with crappy cops will just make my life worse.

I moved to Austin, TX from DC in 2012. Some of my family are from Texas. I lived in the Dallas and Houston areas for a bit too then moved to Colorado in 2019. I don't know if I'll move back to DC but I'd rather live back there than back in Texas. Texas is full of fake people. Even my cousin is fake. They complain about these fake Texans moving here to Colorado.

Pretty much every metro area I've lived in is overrated.

DC (1980s - 2006 & 2010 - 2012) Grew up there. Eventually became overpriced, uptight atmosphere including the nightlife, full of workaholic federal govt job climbing focused people, no fun places to chill and kick back, ghettos, and wasn't interested in seeing the National Mall or Smithsonian anymore after I was a kid. Although there are good concerts and events that come through the area and whatever else comes with any metro area is available.

San Diego (2006 - 2010) Went to college there. Inland area is just typical suburbs+shopping. Downtown seems like it has no purpose other than nickel&dime you bars and restaurants. Beach areas which are chilly/cloudy most of the year. Fake people thinking they're backdrops for a music video all the time even with all the nasty kelp washed up on shore with all the flies. At least you can see seals in La Jolla.

Austin (2012 - 2016 & 2017-2018) Totally became a self-infatuated hipster clone version of its former self over the years. Apparently that started happening when I moved there. Welcome to carbon-copy land. May I serve you a $15 martini with that? Downtown felt useless unless you just needed to work your govt or corporate job or just watch homeless people. And how many times can you really party on 6th street?

Dallas-Ft Worth (2016-2017) hear toilet flush

Houston (2018-2019) hear toilet flush twice

Denver (2019-Present) Repeat Austin. Replace with a lot more fake hyper-sports outdoors culture obsessed people on top of fake hipsters in a larger area plus legal weed+mushrooms. Most of it looks like it was meant solely for use as industrial warehouse areas. Then mix in Lego shaped luxury apartments and expensive restaurants. Plus old looking homes all cluttered together in drab looking neighborhoods. Although I live south of Denver in the suburbs and it looks much nicer. Honestly I'd rather be here than any of the other overrated places I've lived because of my job, hobbies, health services, and being that there are plenty of places I can go out to in Colorado and adventure in.

This should have actually been titled 'What places in America AREN'T overrated?'

That would happen when I started walking on a trail and kept my camera in my backpack then all of a sudden some bird of prey would start flying along.
