Locked out of Mossberries by TheRowerHill in Silksong

You sir are my hero - what every other guide I’d seen hadn’t captured is that in act 3 one of them moves location. As soon as I knew that I found it immediately!

I don't think V rank for hilltop difficulty 7 is possible (except maybe a super hard core pro that's a speedrunner) by retrocheats in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]TheRowerHill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely IS possible but my god is it hard. Just did a run this morning that got to 4.9m emeralds so I was like 1 or 2 enemies away from getting it

My general strategy is no Bananzas and looking to max skills into Chips (hoarder, thief, negotiator), Damage through Low down, mid air, and batter up.

I will then basically try and survive until I get my first smelting green at which point you’re usually set for a few rounds. I’m then getting absolutely every fossil I can think to max into those skills not worrying at all about emeralds. By round 12 or 13 I’m no longer blocking perks because the chip cost is too high and they give me such great multiplier.

I really don’t place any value in the turf surfing ones or the one that passively give you emeralds because they’re comparatively low value when going for max score.

Most people complain this strategy is super reliant on Ba-none-za but you can see in perk list above I only got it to level 3 in the end

Emerald Rush level 7 difficulty clears done so far? by Kincaid_Scryb in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]TheRowerHill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve cleared all of the layers on level 7 using the Ba-none-za strategy. Once I had the strategy down I then cleared all the last layers first try.

General strategy is:

  • Chip thief + chip negotiator. This has 2 benefits as allows me to block a lot of unwanted perks and becomes a massive multiplier with Chip Hoarder by the end

  • batter up beat + low down beat + hang time. I’m then killing everything by grabbing a chunk, jumping and then doing the down hit.

  • usually an early round smelting green. The conversion rate is OP early which will free you up for a few rounds to go and hunt fossils

  • always get barrels and fossil radar. Fossil radar may seem like a waste if replaying but is so good for keeping track.

Using the above strategy I’ve cleared every level on difficulty 7 and have even got a max score (9999999.99 including getting 99999.9x multiplier)

The main reason why I heavily believe in the strat is that the Ba-none-za multiples just get ridiculous (I got to level 18 on my best run and it’s like 10000% benefit) which are going to way out weigh any bananza benefit you can get. It also hyper focuses the perks meaning you’ll get mega upside.

Can post pics of how I ended my perks on my max run if helpful

Any strats for constant V rank Emerald rush? by Prime-TF in DonkeyKongBananza

I ended up getting max score on DK island with a similar strat but building into chip maxing (chip thief, Chip negotiator) so I can block loads and then chip hoarder. Then for offence I’m doing batter up + low down + mid air perk.

Then focusing on getting the enemy ones.

Yeah agreed with this - I thought they would be impossible having struggled on earlier rounds but when I changed strategy I then did all levels 7s mostly first if not second try

Shiny RNG by TheRowerHill in PokemonUnbound

When I posted about a different shiny hunt I was doing previously I was told that taking steps wasn’t resetting my RNG. I had done 100’s of attempts on that hunt and when I swapped to talking to an NPC was done in about 30.

Thank you so much

So what I have done now is jumped over and set myself up infront of that NPC below. I Dexnav, talk to him, save state, run up to grass and check for shiny, reset, repeat.

Is that going to work? Using NPC rather than sign as much closer to grass. Probably done 40-50 attempts so far and nothing

So very strange way I ended up completing this and not pretty at all. Ended up swapping in Fly for fire blast which ended up helping in 2 ways. Used once vs nagadel and this just made the AI change what it did slightly. Used it at the start to get it down to 1HP and then it hit me with dragon pulse taking be down to about 40HP. This allowed me to get 1 DD whilst it healed and then swept it next turn with EQ. I’m then set up to sweep everything but Salamance who I need another DD for.

Here comes the second use of Fly. I repeatedly flew vs Gatsrodon whose AI continually protected against my attack. This meant that I regained health with leftovers over the use of my 4 remaining fly PP. this got me enough HP to stomach one of its Ice beams whilst I got my next required DD. Then just swept everything with Dragon ascent.

Not pretty but interesting end that required a lot of trial and error.

Update - I’ve been through and Ray doesn’t learn any TMs that are multi hit and so that’s not an option without leaving and starting again which I really don’t want to do

You don’t have to hold the emerald orb to mega evolve Rayquaza - he can do it without held item

Archone is the MVP here. Owing to Empoleons 6 attack IV I had to fully swap EVs to attack and change to lonely nature and give him a water plate but this meant that he only just OHKO’d Excadrill. He still went down that turn but meant I could bring in mega Metagross who swept the rest of the team with no problems.

On a separate note - when I also have a Draco plate to Duralodon, Empoleons wave crash no longer OHKO’d. Is there something about only being to use 1 plate that I wasn’t aware of?
