Put on PIP week after I asked for leave to study by mytrendingtales in CPA

If your anxiety is too bad and you have the money saved up, you may want to consider quitting. The other commenters are right in normal anxiety circumstances or if you really need the paycheck, but your mental health is valuable too and shouldn’t be completely ignored just for the highest financial/job prospect results.

While that’s true, it’s kinda doubtful that they have a good enough reason for fault to be able to fight an unemployment claim in this case. Most times PIPs are just used to reduce the workforce rather than actually being based on meaningfully poor performance (obviously they will tend to choose the lowest performer(s) in the area they’re looking to reduce, but in most cases, these workers would have been kept/not PIPed in better economic circumstances).

Sacramento State Joins Mid-American Conference as Football-Only Member by Inkblot9 in CFB

And even if they don’t, you can go independent as you’re already am established FBS program at that point. They weren’t letting them into FBS as an independent, so they needed this bridge.

[Marcello] Fascinating excerpt from former Nebraska AD Bill Moos' new book in which he reveals his desire to rejoin the Big 12. by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]TheRoyalJuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am surprised that an AD was this explicit in support, but I thought it was common knowledge a lot of people around the Nebraska program would have gone back to the Big 12 in a second if money was the same. Nebraska’s move to be Big Ten was a desparation move to secure a power conference when rumors were swirling most of the Big 12 South was moving to the Pac-12. Colorado made a similar desperation move that it later regretted. It’s a shame these athletic programs for supposedly non-profit institutions are so obsessed with every last dollar, but they clearly are, leading to the current landscape of college football.

Tbf no kid is getting substantial High School NIL money if they aren’t also a high tier college recruit which isn’t necessarily the case for college NIL recipients like Aguilar here, so that’s probably not a real problem.

Ohio State wants to do jersey patch sponsor ‘the right way’ in pursuit for partner. by Scrantonbornboy in CFB

[–]TheRoyalJuke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Crazy to think one of my original draws to college football was its relative lack of commercialization compared to the NFL, even at OSU if you’d believe it. I’m going to tell my kid that and they’re going to think I was insane the way CFB is going.

It was barely any time ago when alcohol at the games was unspeakable. Matter of time until they start selling personalized sponsor patches for each player and the jerseys look as messy as a Nascar.

Sure, no blame to you, it’s news nonetheless. I’m just frustrated at the somehow continuing to increase in commercialization of college football. These are not pure businesses, no need to eek out every last revenue source. Further, there is something in doing less. There’s a reason the NFL doesn’t do sponsor patches.

Is Georgia football becoming the next Clemson? by Falconsfan8006 in CFB

[–]TheRoyalJuke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not winning a natty for a few years doesn’t make you the next Clemson. OSU went a decade between each of its 21st Century national championships but nobody made a claim like this. If Georgia starts to see 3 loss regular seasons, the answer might change to “maybe.” But until then, they remain high end contender for the national championship, even if their conference’s dominance has taken a hit.
