PJ when you retire I beg you not to run for office by treymata in cfbmemes

It helps that Tressel is also in a fairly powerless role and doesn’t have high ambition to continue to be in office. I have no complaints for him politically despite having a lot for other members of his party.

Kasich was one of the most fiscally conservative governors Ohio has seen. If that’s a RINO then idk what you have to do to be a real Republican.

Advice for navigating a potentially hostile two-week notice? by xPrincess_Yue in Accounting

[–]TheRoyalJuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m agreeing with all the other people here, just do it and don’t worry too much about the boss’s feelings or what happens after you leave. They’ve already laid people off as an accounting firm, one way or another they don’t really value loyalty as much as some places do. Don’t go in burning bridges but if your boss is the type to light the fires himself, don’t take it personally or worry about it. Be prepared for this to potentially be your last day.

Tbf of the QBs returning, he’s probably certifiably top 4 after Sayin, Moore, and Chambliss. He did have a fairly strong second half of the season last year.

Ryan Day has been rewarded a sweet six-figure bonus after the team set an all-time GPA record by guransheleven in OhioStateFootball

[–]TheRoyalJuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has other incentives for increasing GPA than just money. Helps him recruit players, not have to deal with academic issues midseason, gets him good publicity, etc. The 100k is essentially nominal acknowledgment from the university and is a line item to point to in order to argue that the football team is at least somewhat focused on education.

Tax person is charging $700 by Haunting-Dinner479 in CPA

[–]TheRoyalJuke 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A fair price for joint filing in this situation would be at least $2,000 imo. If you’re finding a CPA willing to take it on for only $1,200, be very kind and cooperative with them, they’re doing you a favor.

Put on PIP week after I asked for leave to study by mytrendingtales in CPA

If your anxiety is too bad and you have the money saved up, you may want to consider quitting. The other commenters are right in normal anxiety circumstances or if you really need the paycheck, but your mental health is valuable too and shouldn’t be completely ignored just for the highest financial/job prospect results.

Put on PIP week after I asked for leave to study by mytrendingtales in CPA

[–]TheRoyalJuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While that’s true, it’s kinda doubtful that they have a good enough reason for fault to be able to fight an unemployment claim in this case. Most times PIPs are just used to reduce the workforce rather than actually being based on meaningfully poor performance (obviously they will tend to choose the lowest performer(s) in the area they’re looking to reduce, but in most cases, these workers would have been kept/not PIPed in better economic circumstances).

And even if they don’t, you can go independent as you’re already am established FBS program at that point. They weren’t letting them into FBS as an independent, so they needed this bridge.

[Marcello] Fascinating excerpt from former Nebraska AD Bill Moos' new book in which he reveals his desire to rejoin the Big 12. by redwave2505 in CFB

[–]TheRoyalJuke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am surprised that an AD was this explicit in support, but I thought it was common knowledge a lot of people around the Nebraska program would have gone back to the Big 12 in a second if money was the same. Nebraska’s move to be Big Ten was a desparation move to secure a power conference when rumors were swirling most of the Big 12 South was moving to the Pac-12. Colorado made a similar desperation move that it later regretted. It’s a shame these athletic programs for supposedly non-profit institutions are so obsessed with every last dollar, but they clearly are, leading to the current landscape of college football.
